Havana Cafe — Restaurant in Monroe

The food's ok, but I've been here three times, and three times now I've had an issue either with the food, the bill, or both.

Today, met a few friends for breakfast and waited about 20 or 30 minutes for food before finally going up and asking when we could expect our food - these aren't particularly complex dishes, and it was shortly after opening so not many people there backing up the kitchen with orders. A minute or so after getting back to the table all the food finally comes out, and my omelette had the tough, rubbery texture of eggs left in a warming station too long.

One of the staff brought out the tickets - I grab the two I'm covering, put them both in the same receipt book and hand them directly to her. She comes back having not only run my card for someone else's order, but it wasn't even someone from our table...?

Which reminds me of the last time I was there where there was also confusion over who was paying for what. If you find yourself asking the table 3 or 4 times who is paying for what - and you still get it wrong - maybe you should consider just writing stuff down since your short-term memory clearly isn't up to the task.

Havana cafe is an excellent addition to the Monroe area. Located inside El Azteca Mexican restaurant however it can be accessed in its stand alone coffee house form as it has its own parking lot and very cozy cafe setup on the inside. I can see spending plenty of time here working on college assignments. It also offers outdoor patio seating which looked very well executed. The coffee is great they combine what most other Latin style coffee houses in the area have paired with iced coffee and delicious frappes. Ive passed this place many times and finally i went in. What nice spot to have coffee and wow what a high quality and unique food menu. I really enjoyed this place. The lady that took my order was very professional and nice. I felt welcome there and im just a scruffy ol truck driver. Lol. I had the horchata coffee. Never seen it before in my life.
