I had the pleasure of dining at Mohawk Seafood Tavern recently, and it was truly a delightful experience. I'm thrilled to give this establishment a well-deserved five-star review.
Let's start with the food – it was exceptional. The catfish platter I ordered was not only delicious but cooked to perfection. The catfish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and it came with a side of perfectly seasoned fries that complemented the dish perfectly. Each bite was a savory sensation, and it's evident that the chefs here take great pride in their culinary creations.
Now, regarding the service, while it was generally good, there were a few moments when it was a tad slow. However, it's essential to note that the staff was friendly and accommodating throughout the evening. They took the time to explain the menu, make recommendations, and ensure our dining experience was pleasant. The occasional delay in service can easily be overlooked when the overall hospitality is so warm and welcoming.
The ambiance of Mohawk Seafood Tavern also adds to the overall charm of the place. The nautical-themed decor and cozy seating create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're on a romantic date or enjoying a meal with friends, the restaurant's setting makes for an enjoyable dining environment.
In conclusion, Mohawk Seafood Tavern is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts, especially if you're a fan of their catfish platter. The outstanding flavors of their dishes, along with the friendly service, more than make up for any minor service delays. I left the restaurant with a full stomach and a big smile, and I can't wait to return for another memorable meal. Five stars...
Read moreMe and my wife walked in this place waited to be seated but nobody came so we asked if we could seat ourselves and they really didn’t know. We proceeded to sit down and the wait began. Took approximately 20 mins to get drink ordered, took 15 mins to receive them. The drinks were completely gone, nobody came by or nothing. So we waited, & waited, & waited, & waited some more. We finally ordered our food. Finally after an hour out came a bowl of lettuce (brown at that) with a dab of ranch. A basket of crackers as well. That was the only thing going so far. And we waited &waited some more, after 2 hrs and still no food we decided enough was enough. There was people of same race that came in 1 1/2 hours after we did and got fed yet we were still waiting. She said she felt it was discrimination due to we were an interracial couple. I personally didn’t care if it was or wasn’t I was done waiting and went to get something else to eat from...
Read moreTraveling through town and hit Yelp for dinner options. We wanted seafood and selected Mohawk Seafood Tavern based on the Yelp reviews. We ordered our dinners to go (COVID-19 is still a big concern at the time of this review) so the food was not too warm when we arrived back to the hotel after a 10 minute ride. That's not their fault the food wasn't hot, either. The gumbo was good but have had better elsewhere. My wife had the combo- oysters and shrimp with house salad. She especially liked the shrimp. My oyster/shrimp poboy was good but I had asked specifically for remoulade and Tabasco and was told it was in the bag. You guessed it... there was neither in the to go bag. Overall, not impressed. But they must be doing something right as this place has been in business so long the formica has been wiped off the counter in spots at...
