The vibe is perfect. The interior/exterior design is definitely a cut above. The music is great and there’s plenty of parking. I’d love to give it a five star, but sadly this was my LAST restaurant in Louisiana before flying out. My mom ordered two simple sides for her meal: lightly scrambled eggs (they came out well done) and toast (they ran out of jelly and preserves and offered frozen butter instead, after having to ask). I ordered the Cajun eggs Benedict and my friend ordered a different eggs Benedict. Both dishes, the yolks were completely cooked, twice the necessary amount of hollandaise sauce and served with kraft sliced cheese lol. I had to ask for butter (frozen) for the super dry grits and it took about twenty minutes for our bloody Mary’s to be delivered. I also asked to have the shaved ham on the side of my entree, to which the server agreed but sadly that request was also ignored. Just so many completely avoidable blips. Food was a 5/10....
Read moreThe Okaloosa finally found their feet and it is spectacular! I started going here when they first opened and have always loved the atmosphere, drinks, and the fabulous key lime pie! However, the actual food has always been lacking which WAS unfortunate, because it’s one of the most unique and eclectic restaurants I’ve ever visited. They revamped their menu to include a killer smash burger and upgraded the quality of their fries! Thankfully they kept their cocktail menu, because the Rockstar Martini is where it’s at!! Our server Bishop, couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive, in addition to hearing his excitement about upcoming changes to a place he’s also seen the potential in for years!! It was refreshing hearing someone in the industry talk passionately about their work! Congratulations Okaloosa!! It’s so nice to see a local restaurant get it right!! We will be back soon and often! Can’t wait to try the rest...
Read moreMy daughter and I chose to eat at Okaloosa’s today, we were greeted with warm smiles and were directed to outside seating, which was 10/10 beautiful the flowers and decor really was a comfortable atmosphere Hannah was our server she was amazing, such a sweet lady. We ordered the shrimp and grits & the caramelized banana pancakes . The presentation of the plate was immaculate, the wonderful (creole sauce)? I may be wrong on that but it was topped over the creamy buttery grits and grilled shrimp that was to the T of perfection they weren’t too spicy nor too bland. That entree was garnished with some beautiful green and purple garnish (micros) The pancakes were so crispy and soft, they served powder sugar, pecans, and caramelized bananas, AND a homemade maple syrup that was to die for. lol this is my new favorite place for sure. 10/10 the cooks know what they are doing and the...
