Love this place & the owners,...they are a lovely couple that have been together for,..well all of my adult life since I was 20 yrs way bk in 1990,..I saw Pete every single day for yrs as he was one of our favorites that came into Maybes,which was owned by the absolute funnest craziest bosses that I have ever had,Diane Hyland,which she has been remarried fir a min but I'm (sorry yall I DO not know her new hubby),Maybes was where Oskalusa is now on Hudson Lane-totally cool place too but it still doesn't hold a candle to all the fond memories I still hold in my heart for,well everyone,..except one chic who was always so messy & kinda still loves to stir in other ppls biz-not my thing then or now!! Lol 😆,..anywhere I don't get out alot these days but I have stopped in Pete & Ms.Ristas place Shanagans a time or two,..im so glad that I got to know them & I wonder if Ms Rista still makes that choc cheese cake that was just fabulous! Great and Amazing place regardless if you are looking to just chill out setting around talking to friends or people you just met, if you want to shoot pool and just be goofy, or if you want to go on a busy night while they turn the juke box up a little bit more. While doing any of those things or something different there you can always enjoy your drinks while being served and greeted by some of the best most humble staff members to help you enjoy your time in a super great place of asstablishment! I stopped here while visiting a childhood friend for his wedding, the name is what made me pull in to check the place out. I don't go to many bars, but I do frequent pool halls. Unfortunately, they're often poorly lit, dirty, or smell like cigar smoke. My friends and I were surprised to find that this wasn't the case with Shananigans. Even with our party of eight wandering in off the street, it wasn't claustrophobic like most halls can be. The drinks were good and affordable, and the tables, thank god, are in good condition and properly leveled for play. We were even able to order a pizza while there; it was nice.
