Two Warriors Meadery — Restaurant in West Monroe

Two Warriors is a locally based meadery, or honey winery, that is owned by two local Army veterans. During our visit, we were given a tasting of the available honey wines and a tour of the facility. To put it simply, it was absolutely incredible. The owners have such a love and passion for what they do that it radiates from them when discussing the mechanics, history, and story behind their mead that puts this place above all other distilleries (and I’ve been to some all over the United States). While staying true to the origin of mead, they created a flavor called “Oden’s Love” that is my new beverage of choice. The flavor is basically “Christmas in a bottle”, as they said, which is extremely accurate. It is spicey, sweet, and so smooth. They also had another flavor that incorporates a local fruit called “Mayhaw” which was also incredibly flavorful, sweet, and refreshing. Overall, this is now my number one recommendation for anyone visiting the Monroe area that wants a good alcoholic beverage, which also gives back to the community. Drinks AND supporting veterans?! So on my way from Texas to New England, I added a stop here at Two Warriors, eager to try their take on mead. Much to my initial dismay, I arrived to a closed sign on the door, as the owners had some holiday obligations this week. I messaged them on Facebook, figuring I'd ask them where I could buy retail bottles. The owner said instead, could I stop by in the morning. Heck yeah! So the next morning I went directly to the shop, and he opened just for me to check the place out and make my purchase.
