Fillet Sushi is easily one of the best new spots in Monrovia. My wife and I came here twice for dinner and were impressed, but today I went with my buddy Mike for lunch and it sealed the deal—this place is 5 stars.
We both ordered the Fillet Sushi lunch ($48) which is a complete experience: miso soup, salad, five pieces of premium nigiri, a salmon chirashi bowl, and two skewers (wagyu beef and chicken). The soup and salad were good, but the real stars were the nigiri—each piece perfectly balanced, lightly sauced, and literally melted in the mouth. The salmon chirashi bowl was packed with buttery salmon, sesame rice, and excellent roe. By the time we got to the skewers, we were already wowed, but those were next-level—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor.
We finished with a little soy cream on a waffle dish that was the perfect sweet bite to close out an incredible meal. Chef Tee and team are doing something special here. Highly...
Read moreI had an amazing dining experience at Fillet Sushi! Everything I ordered was top-notch, from the food to the service.
The Wagyu Roll was absolutely delicious—rich, buttery, and packed with flavor. The vegetable tempura was perfectly crispy without being greasy, and the agadeshi tofu had that perfect balance of crispy exterior and silky interior, soaking up the flavorful broth beautifully. The gyoza were well-seasoned, with a great pan-seared crisp.
To top it all off, I enjoyed a cold Suntory lager, which paired perfectly with the meal. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and efficient, making the entire experience even better.
If you’re looking for high-quality sushi, great Japanese dishes, and outstanding service, Fillet Sushi is definitely worth a visit! Can’t wait to...
Read moreI eat at many sushi restaurants around Los Angeles and this one in Monrovia has won my heart. The atmosphere is very calming and friendly. But the FOOD! Wow! The attention to detail was beautiful in its simplicity and the quality of the fish exceded my expectations. We had a cucumber salad that was perfectly sliced and prepared, miso soup that was fresh and not too salty. I had their signature roll it is called Apple wrap and it was such a surprise, I have never had anything like it and no rice which is what I am always looking for. The sashimi was sliced perfectly and presented so beautifully. I also had their signature roll kushiyaku with scallops and I think I went to heaven. I will be driving all the way out to Monrovia to get my sushi...
