ETA: i've come a few more times since the last time I reviewed. Service is has not improved. We tend to get seated rather quickly most of the time But once we sit down, usually that's where it starts to go downhill. A server comes pretty promptly to your table. But once you get your food, you're likely to never see someone again or to have to hunt someone down. Refills are still very hard to get. and the food presentation is inconsistent. I have ordered oatmeal, a number of times for different people in my party and it has always came with the fruit on the side until today, it came with it on top. When I said that's not how it normally came because my daughter was now less interested in it. The server slightly argued that that's how it's always been. đ And honestly the best thing I have eaten are the Blueberry donutsâ¤ď¸they are absolutely delicious. ( Today was probably the worst version i've ever had.And yet they were still delicious so it definitely seems like you can't go wrong with those) I wish they had a family sized order. Next best thing we can all agree on in my family is that the California club is delicious. However, the sweet tea has improved. But if you ask for lemon, look at them closely, because I was served multiple lemon on the side that were spoiled. They were brown and yet the server brought them out anyway.
Came on a Sunday morning, got seated pretty quickly even though they looked very busy. The Host staff was a bit busy but friendly enough i guess and the young man holding open the door was very kind. It was a little noisier then most places due to the design of the building but over all I like the atmosphere. The menu is not appealing and it's a bit distracting to me anyway. I oreded the Toasted Yolk with hashbwon casserole and turkey sausage. I was very disappointed in the turkey sausage(âď¸ââââ) I don't eat pork so I was excited that they had it but I would not order it again I couldn't even finish it. The hashbrown casserole (I don't usually like anyway) but it was fairly good , a bit too much peper but also just not my thing. (âď¸âď¸âââ) I see how someone might like it. Sweet tea was awful, not sweet and way too strong. DR PEPPER was very good. I would have drank more but it was hard to get a refill. NOW the main dish was very good (i had over med egg) and I would definitely want to come back just for that. My son also had it (scrambled egg) but he wanted mine more so I ordered another egg just for his. It took WAY too long to get it. Unfortunately he took his last bite and there was LONG hair all tangled in the egg. It was cooked into the egg. The manager did not handle it well. She was rude and honest very unprofessional. And honestly right when we sat down, I didn't know she was a manager i just saw her walking by but I made a comment about how unhappy she looked to be there. When I told her there was a hair, I said, " I just want to bring it to your attention, we are already finished anyway but there was a hair COOKED into my son's egg. I'm not looking to get anything out of it except to let you know so it can be fixed." She said "ah well everybody wears hairnets so I don't know" I put it closer to her face because there is no way I could have ever put that hair in that egg it was clear as day that it was cooked into it. I was holding the hair and the egg was dangling from it. She was slightly argumentative about it. I hope someone talks to her about how she should interact with customers. Our server was good but seemed over worked. She was definitely too busy to tend to us much. I would have given service 3 or 4 stars had it not been for the managers interaction. Managers are still part of the service.
Over all I will try it again but I won't forget the hair or how the manager...
Read moreThe whole experience was a little underwhelming, it started out good but then ended kinda of meh. The waitress was nice and attentive until she wasn't. My husband ordered a Caramel Macchiato before our meal, and it did'nt come til after our meal and it was only after we got our food we had to ask where the drink was. Also it was a very busy Sunday but I always believe it's not about not making "mistakes" but how to navigate thru them. Even though it was busy day our server didn't communicate the delay for the drink or food. We also informed her from the get go that this was our first time there. All of our food came out in different times and at one point they brought food to us that wasn't ours. We had someone come over to ask us "How we were doing" and we told her not really good, informed her about the coffee delay and the how the waitress was not really apologetic or responsive about the delays. As someone who's worked in food service and customer service they go hand in hand. The supervisor I assume who was on duty was apologetic and very understanding and have us 30% off our meal which was very kind. She did also informed us they were having some staffing issues and also it's a busy Sunday, which is totally understandable. From what it seemed the waitress was also overwhelmed or felt like we were too critical because she avoided us the rest of our time there and we only saw her again to pay. It definitely wasn't anything personal but we felt like she might have taken the situation like it was. Anyways for the cost and experience, we could have gone to the Heights in Houston and received better food, better customer service with similar pricing with a better overall experience. Might try again but not anytime soon. For now we will stick with First Watch and Homestead Kitchen & Bar for...
Read moreFrom the beautiful atmosphere, to the service, to the food, everything was absolutely amazing!!!!! We were a group of 7 and we were quickly seated. Our waiter, Adam was very attentive and provided exceptional service. I tried something different on this visit and my tastebuds fell head over hills in love with the chicken beignets. The batter was similar to a funnel cake, dusted with powdered sugar and delicious maple syrup for dipping. To top off all this deliciousness, the bacon was bursting with flavors of sugar and jalapeĂąo, no better combination for bacon that will keep me coming back for more. I almost forgot, I also had a side of delicious cheesy grits and grits were cooked to perfection. Iâm very picky when it comes to grits and I must say I enjoyed the flavor immensely! Also, the manager came by our table several times throughout our meal and checked on us. I was impressed that as busy as they were, the manager was very attentive to the guests. My experience at Toasted Yolk, Mt. Belvieu was a 10/10 and boy-oh-boy, do I highly recommend! Canât wait for my next visit as I continue to explore menu optionsđ See you very soon, Toasted Yolk,...
