In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average baked potato is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the potato and its baker have challenged my preconceptions about baked potato’s is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for the simple baked potato. But I realize, only now do I truly understand. Not every potato can become a great baked potato; but a great baked potato can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine a kinder and more passionate genius than the owner, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in Yellowstone. I will be returning to Big Sky Baked and Loaded soon,...

Love it! Your number one choice in the whole city if you are really hungry. We tried 3 more places. Almost all overpriced and have so many issues...We were desperate, we get here willing to visit Yellowstone and find out that you should sell your kidney to get a quality food in Gardiner. But instead of surviving on instant noodles we mentioned a long line to a perfect potato bowls. Potato with beacon , slow cooked beef (Cowboy) or pulled pork (Ranger) it is just a perfect combination.

Pros: Just a perfect bowl. Portions are huge, we were able to finish it in 2 times! Place had no issues... clean, tasty food, a very reasonable amount of potatoes and meat, well balanced topings. Good choice of meat. Pulled pork, pulled beef, chicken, vegetarian options. Fast serving and well trained staff. Just 18 dollars for a meal ( that I personally eat 2 times). Anyone who will try to go out in Gardiner will understand me. Cons: I wasn't able to find. Probably not the best option if you on diet 😉

Food smells so good...I forgot to...

I am convinced that most of the reviews from this place are fake. Most of them read as ChatGPT spat them out with flowery language. Don't be fooled.

The concept of loaded baked potatoes is awesome. However, this place failed. It's located right next to the gas station near the bridge in Gardiner. I never thought I'd pay $20 for a baked potato, but I had to try it, and I was hugely disappointed. The photos make you think you're getting a BJ's sized potato, but the "baked potato" from this place was tiny....For god's sake, you're right next to Idaho. Get some real potatoes. I am tall enough to see in the window, and I watched in horror as the solo female employee opened up canned food and poured it into a skillet, then transferred it to miniature-sized chipotle trays. I ordered the cowboy potato and it was mediocre. My wife ordered the Rancher, and she didn't eat more than 3 bites because it was inedible. Go elsewhere. Don't waste...

We were quite excited to eat at such a well-reviewed spot but were left feeling disappointed in the food. The potato was warm rather than hot and the toppings were lukewarm, bordering on cold. The portions were large and there was a good amount of topping, but the chicken was quite sub-par in flavour and texture. It would have been an acceptable meal for $10 but $17 felt very steep when you can pay that for a hot, tasty sit-down meal in Gardiner. I didn't finish my potato and neither did my husband and we wouldn't go back here, but it wasn't terrible. Service, however, was great and fast and we really appreciated how friendly the gentlemen running the truck was.

As we were driving through Gardiner we were in search of a place that was gluten free and came across this adorable little food truck on the corner by the gas station, but also with a view of the mountains in the background. The two brothers that helped us (I think I remember their names were Joel and Tyler?) were so helpful in recommending options that were tasty but not too spicy. They were both patient and kind, which is not always the case with food truck service. When we got our bowls we realized that “loaded” was an understatement!! The bowls were delicious and filling! Highly recommend this food truck, especially if you have gluten allergy!
