I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an incident I experienced at Arrys Restaurant on 01/26/25. Upon entering the restaurant with my service dog, I was unexpectedly confronted by several cashiers who questioned my right to have my service dog with me.
Despite the fact that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) clearly states that businesses cannot require proof of a service animal, I felt compelled to show my service dog card. This should not have been necessary, as the ADA protects individuals with disabilities from such inquiries.
Not only was I embarrassed by the treatment I received from your staff, but I was also subjected to comments and stares from other customers, which further escalated my distress.
During this encounter, I spoke with a manager—an older man with light skin, a chunky build, color eyes, and short hair that works the drive thru—who was not only dismissive but also incredibly rude. He insisted that California law requires service dogs to wear a vest, stating that I was unaware of the law. However, this is not accurate. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) clearly states that businesses cannot demand proof of a service animal, nor does it mandate the use of vests.
His hostile demeanor made me feel unwelcome, and he interrupted me repeatedly, refusing to let me explain my situation. He walked away while I was speaking, which only added to my embarrassment and frustration. It was clear that he was not familiar with the relevant laws regarding service animals, and he made unfounded claims about health department requirements.
Service dogs are essential for many individuals, and it is crucial that they and their handlers are treated with respect. I would appreciate your attention to this matter and how you plan to address the behavior of your staff to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected in your establishment, regardless of...
Read moreStarted coming here last year because it’s one of the only places around that sell the DUI fries.... first time I came I was honestly impressed with the large portion at a reasonable price. Now I’ve been here about 4, 5 times at about 2- 3 month increments and each time the quality has been dwindling. Like I said the first time I got the DUI fries from here it was one of the best I’ve had. Second time not as good but still tasty. Third time is when I started noticing that it wasn’t the same quality ingredients as before. The pastrami was still the same chili was a bit different but the carne asada was a bit hard and salty, and the cheese was not really melted but kinda clumpy. The last time i was here, it wasn’t so good. This time however, not at all.... the Pastrami looks almost like bacon, the chili is dark and seems to be overcooked( idk how else to explain it) , the Carne Asada is dry and flavorless and the cheese didn’t really melt into the chili like it did the first couple of times I was here, it’s just clumps and lil dots of cheese all around. They actually didn’t give that many fries this time so it’s a big pile of blahhh.... all in all pretty disappointed in this product. Idk if it has to do with the pandemic and maybe that has caused them to have to change in the ingredients that they use or maybe the cook idk, but it’s not what it was. I gave it 2 stars for the fact that maybe it has something to do with the pandemic but if that’s not the case then it def earned a 1 star. I might give it another try later on in the future just to see if it’s improved but if it doesn’t that’ll prolly be it...
Read moreI was there for breakfast this morning and an older gentleman took my order. I told him 3 times, bacon and eggs plater and I was for sure he wrote it down on his note pad. I waited for a long time my order, and when my order was ready. I looked in the bag and notice my bacon and eggs was missing. I asked the lady where bacon and eggs was at , she said that they older man who took my order never charged me for bacon and eggs plater. I was very unhappy with her answer. Now that the remaining food order I placed will get cold while I wait for a bacon and eggs plater. I was very disappointed with the service today. Never offered an apology for her employee mistake. I hope are they are to hire able people with experience who know how to take orders in the future. The service needs to improve , or they will loose customers. I will continue to come , but hope the owner will have a emergency crew meeting with his employees to talk about accuracy when they are taking orders. you should never have your customers wait if they mistake is on the restaurant. WAS NOT EVEN OFFERED A SODA, OR A DRINK WHILE I WAITED FOR MY BACON AND EGGS ORDER. VERY SAD...
