Chinese Food Express — Restaurant in Montebello

I've ordered from this spot several times via Doordash, but wanted to check it out in person after seeing mixed yelp reviews. It's small, kinda grimy, but seemingly clean enough (the building could be in better shape, but otherwise it's ok). The staff was very friendly, the older Asian woman working up front was very sweet and funny. They take cards on orders over 10 bucks in spite of a sign that says "cash only". As for the food, I recommend the beef chow mein, you have to wait a few minutes, but its worth the wait. The chicken wings are usually very crispy and delicious, but sometimes if they are old they aren't quite as good. The chicken egg rolls are awesome, for Chinese fast food, that is. The food looks delicious even the BBQ pork which is what I aimed for in a bowl of rice tell me why this pork and whatever sauce they used had no flavor!? Good value overall. Couple small caveats. The potatoes in the chicken curry were excessively soft and become mashed just trying to fork one. Excellent wonton soup. 10 cents for fortune cookies. Fountain pop is expensive as they charge for refills.
