Chef Chen — Restaurant in Montebello

Did a search for Chinese food in Montebello since in Monterey Park my matches were in the 70 percentile.

This location appeared with a 94 percent match. 94%!!! Google nailed it! I went with my wife and kids and they loved it!

I asked for Wor Wonton Soup, and my wife got Kung Pao chicken. My kids asked for Mongolian beef, chicken lo Mein, and broccoli beef.

Everything was hot and fresh when it came out. We enjoyed it very much.

Salt and Pepper squid, Beef and broccoli and BBQ pork fried rice were all excellent, a good balance of proteins and vegetable in all dishes and the flavors were exactly what I was looking for (a more american style for east coast eaters visiting town).

Service was great (even just for takeout). The woman taking orders at the counter was very courteous, interior was very clean, all tables, chairs, and counter tops in good order. The families seated for dine-in all seemed quite happy with their meals and the wait-staff was attentive to customers. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of free/accessible parking for customers.

07/01/2019 One word, bland. The food is very simple in flavor and is borderline tasteless. The dumplings are mediocre at best, everything appears water down but I’m assuming the good reviews come from the people settling on the low price. The waitresses seem to be focused on rushing the customers out rather than providing proper customer service. Save your money and if looking for a great Chinese restaurant with similar prices and superior authentic Chinese cuisine then try “Min’s Dumpling House” it’s a bit of a drive from the montebello area but very...
