AWSOM Wings Pizza & Burgers — Restaurant in Montebello

I hate to do this. I've been coming here for years, I loved Alondra, but something has changed. My husband and I went to have lunch and ordered the cheese balls as a starter, I got the 12 pc wings with Teriyaki and Garlic Parmesan, he got the Cali burger. All was fine to start. My first red flag should have been the fact thar the wings came out just a few minutes after ordering, before the cheese balls, which we ordered maybe 10 minutes before we ordered our meals. The cheese balls came out shortly after. The first thing we noticed was how small and hard the cheese balls were. Like deflated but also had a crust that was so hard we could have played golf with them. It took way more force than it should have just to tear one in half. If you have ever microwaved leftover cheese balls a little too long, you know exactly what I'm talking about. And they tasted like that had just been nuked in a microwave too. We had one bite and did not finish them, they were just too hard. The wings were the same. Way over cooked, and tasted like someone just reheated them in an oven. They were cold, despite coming out super quick, and extremely dry. If you have ever reheated wings, then you know that flavor they get from the bone. The weird marrow taste that seeps into the meat when you reheat chicken with bones. Thats what they tasted like. Dry, bone marrow with sauce that was trying its best to cover the flavor but failing miserably. It was a disaster. And if you are wondering, "ok, but what about the burger?" That's a good question that we don't know the answer to. It just didn't come out. They were too busy trying to do doordash to remember they have people who actually came in to eat. By the time I was done eating what I could from the wings, the burger finally came out, but we had been there an hour waiting for it, and we were done waiting. So we told them we didn't want it anymore as we were leaving and left without ever even trying it. I don't know what happened to this place, but its not at all what it use to be. Yesterday night I went out for my bday dinner to Alondras in Montebello. I have attended multiple times to this restaurant before with my family and friends. We ordered fries wings and pizza. We were given our fries and then later our wings, after that we still waited passt 20 min and my wings were cold I politely asked the waiter if we can get a new order of wings because they were cold and we still have not gotten our pizza. The whole point is to eat our wings with the pizza. She went to speak to the manager and then the manager came back 5 minutes later asking what the problem was, I told her the same thing. And she started telling me they serve the wings first I stated the same thing that the point was to eat our food together. The other times I have gone our food usually comes together. They seemed to be prioritizing orders to go instead. She then goes to say their pizza was freshly made, but would not address my situation. She offered sauce, but I just wanted to eat warm wings. Apparently she did not want to help with the issue and I told her it's okay, because I was not going to be explaining myself over and over. Instead we asked for boxes to go. We paid and thanked her for ruining my birthday dinner and for her poor customer service skills, she told me you're welcome:)...what type of manager says you're welcome for ruining a customers bday dinner. That manager is a joke. I did not get her name but she was working at around 9pm on February 29, 2020. You have definitely lost customers because I will not go back and support this place neither...

Food is good not great, I have had better. Decor is cool if you are into the whole mobster, early 1900s scene type of vibe. They always have a game on which is great for sports fans. Now the other side, this place is very small and cramped, which is a shame because I am certain a larger building would attract even more business. If you happen to go at a time where one of the local high school or youth sports teams is there you are in for a wait and a loud environment. Our last time there was just that, our last time, because we had a bad experience. We got there and were told it would be about a thirty minute wait for four. After almost forty minutes we went to ask if we would be called soon, and the hostess said they were readying a table outside for us. We did not want to sit outside (it was a chilly evening and our party was mostly adults) and asked to be seated inside and were told we would have to wait another fifteen to twenty minutes. We asked why we were not initially told that they were planning on seating us outside and that is when the hostess shifted to a rude tone and said we should have mentioned from the get go that we did not want to sit outside, to which we responded that they should have asked if we were okay with sitting outdoors. She then, in the same tone, reiterated the new wait time, after which we decided just to leave. I get the sense the place has either been hyped up by the local denizens or perhaps was better a few years back. No plans on returning...
