Golden Ox Burgers — Restaurant in Montebello

Now I see why the one star reviews. I go in and its empty ,just me and two other people. I order a chicken salad(nothing big) and a coke. Remember no one in front of me. Four more people go in and order , they all got their food and I'm still waiting. I look at the grill 10 minutes later and no chicke. On the grill. I am very patient and wait a bit before I ask for my money back. They tell me that it should be ready soon so I decide to wait. I see the cashier asking the "chef" about my salad and he looks confused. They forgot about my order!!!!! Then they proceed to ask me abkut THREE times if I want if for dine in or to go. I tell them every single time that it's for dine in. They ask me one more time the same thing and I say for dine in. Less than one minute later they bring me my salad in a bag and I tell them it was dine in. I have a tough shell but this place made me feel like they didn't want me there. OMG! This has only been one of my favorite restaurants since a child. I live in San Diego now but would still take a drive out there when in the area just to get my favorite chili cheese fries. But not anymore! I went there recently excited about the chili cheese fries but they did not taste the same. All I could taste was pepper in my mouth. They were a lot spicier than usual and very peppery or something. I ask a worker if they change the chili cheese fries and she said yes it's a much better recipe cooked from scratch. That may be great and all, but it's not the same taste. I definitely will not be going back anymore. I'm really hurt they killed my chili cheese fries. I eat here once a year when I'm in Montebello. I look forward to it because I always have a good experience. Well, not this year. I ordered the chef salad. The basic chef salad on the menu does not have meat listed as an ingredient. The drive thru menu showed chicken as an add-on. I ordered only the salad because I'm vegetarian. The salad came literally piled with ham. I also ordered fries, but I guess the woman at the window didn't hear me. Last, I ordered an extra thousa d island dressing. She said it was $0.35, we were charged $0.85. I guess they make enough mistakes to truly merit the sign in the window telling you to check your order before you leave.
