I was really craving pokey, and all the local poke spots have been closed or just no longer a business or maybe moved I’m not sure. However this is the only poke spot around the radius that is within local driving distance so I decided to give it a try although I was skeptical. I did not read any reviews prior to coming here so I wasn’t sure was gonna be and I thought it would be great to just try new place out and poor local business anyways.
The place looked very empty. Upon entering I thought maybe it’s because I’m going off hours however, the staff did not greet me or welcome me. When I first entered I was waiting for a staff to give me the attention. The woman who is on the counter, seeming like she has a lot of attitude, or maybe it was just a resting face, was eating on the counter, that their processing the other food which was slightly concerning. I ignored that, and I got a small Poké bowl upon taking the first bite. I realize something in the bowl wasn’t right and after trying the various different food that I got from the bowl, it turned out I think the seaweed had gone bad because it was sour, and it tasted like Seaweed, and I have had Japanese and poki and seaweed of all sort, and that was not it.
I end up throwing about a third of my bowl out, isolating the seaweed out, they overpour on the amount of sauce or the sauce they made are too salty. Perhaps they used Americanizing ingredients I’m not sure because normally when I have poki, the sauce or lighter. So I ended up spit some of the stuff out. I did not have the confidence in telling the staff because they weren’t that welcoming about the food problem. I didn’t care for refund, but I probably will not come...
Read moreI’m sorry. This is the absolute last time I will be coming to this place. I stopped coming long time ago but wanted to try it one last time. The bowl/fish itself was slightly warm when I ate it. Should the fish not be cold/fresh/near refrigerated temperature when eaten? The rice felt a little old and not as good quality. The sauces. I requested Spicy Mayo and Garlic Ponzu. Didn’t really taste the Garlic Ponzu, and the Spicy Mayo unfortunately nearly came across as raw mayonnaise. I literally had to empty my own 3 small packs of soy sauce into the bowl to give it some more sauce in general. Fish did not taste the freshest; I’m not trying to piledrive. At least I got a free taco coupon. On top of this the lady server seemed pretty nonchalant when serving me - as if she didn’t care. But yeah - one of, if not, the worst poke bowl I’ve ever eaten. $17.87 - other places are cheaper, serve better quality, and more in the bowl. Literally felt like I was eating a bowl of rice, fish, side ingredients and mayo if it weren’t for the soy sauce packets...
Read moreFood prepared with DIRT... literally dirt! I ordered a poke bowl and a few bites in I felt the grit and mush... it was CHUNKS OF DIRT! I have never been so grossed out! THIS IS THE WORSE PLACE I'VE EVER ORDERED FROM! There was so much dirt! When I showed the store my bowl, they said the chunks of dirt were from the salad. So that means THE SALAD ISN'T WASHED! How can anyone handling food not see the chunks of dirt in the salad?!?! What kind of people do they employ... what kind of company let's this happen?!?! The owner clearly cuts corners by hiring people with little to no food handling training, or cuts corners with how they prep the salad. This is how people get sick and get food poisoning! It's one thing to have mid tuna but unsanitary dirt left in the lettuce for the poke bowls! I ordered a tuna and salmon poke bowl... NOT HEAPS OF DIRT. There was more dirt than fish!!! The pictures show what looks to be liver or meat, BUT NO ITS DIRT CLUMPS! This...
