The adjacent golf course, Del Monte, is the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River. The course is always in great shape and the folks who work there are terrific. I’m a local who plays there often and have had many occasions to eat at the adjacent Hyatt Hotel. I am not sure what the room rates are but the prices on the menu, especially the drinks, are the same as Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay minus the ocean views!! My wife and I ordered a couple of drinks that ended up costing $35. Do yourself a favor and go to a better restaurant that has more than one waitress like the Hyatt. Three suggestions: Osteria Al Mare, the restaurant at the Hay golf course. (Your admission at the gate to get into the Pebble Beach area can be applied for full credit to your restaurant bill). You should call a day before during normal business hours to the Pebble Beach phone number to get a reservation. However, if you arrive by 5:30, they’ll fit you in. This is no more expensive than the Hyatt with 50 times the ambience. Another sleeper is the restaurant at the Pacific Grove Golf Course. Also, for the best Italian get an advance reservation at Mezza Luna which has food on par...
Read moreKids menu has a section titled “All day Menu” but when we went for brunch around 10:30am and the kids tried to order from that section, we were told they could not. Later when we talked to a manager (who was very dismissive about the fact that they do not follow through on the menu they provide), we were told it is dinner only. Then why is it not titled as such? On the breakfast section the kids buffet says “Eat as much as you like - but only pay for your age. $12” That’s confusing, but with 2 kids under 12 we figured they would each pay their age. Turns out is is yet another menu lie. The manager said kids under 5 are free and then kids 5 to 12 are $12. So what is printed on the kids menu is worthless. In addition to all that, the food was terrible. As just one example, 4 adults ordered dishes with poached eggs on them and in all 4 cases the eggs were completely over cooked and in some cases hard as rocks and inedible. I do not recommend eating here - from the manager to the servers to the cooks, no one seems to care about customer service. I’ve never given a restaurant a 1 star rating but I suppose there is unfortunately a first time...
Read moreWe stayed at the regency and had dinner at Sea Root.
We arrived with no reservations and we’re seated immediately then greeted by our server. I forgot his name but he was very friendly and welcoming. I can tell he along with his colleagues seemed a little rush which gave off a sense that the place was understaffed which is understandable during these times. Regardless, we were treated well!
The restaurant is gorgeous and cozy with their dim lights.
The food menu looked great! I ordered the bucatini (without protein which I regretted later) and my husband ordered the Cesar salad with shrimp.
The bucatini was incredible and flavorful with hints of spice! My favorite! I had two pieces of shrimp from my husbands plate (chopped and added to my past) holy cow! Those jumbo shrimps are incredible and even better in my pasta!
Overall food and service was fantastic!
Be mindful that you will need to wait a while for food to arrive when it’s busy (Saturday night), you can see like 4 people working the...
