This dog park at El Estero Lake is convenient and pretty well maintained. It’s not very big but they made good use of the space they had. When I lived in Monterey, I went often because it was a place where I could let the dogs off the leash. Now that I live in Salinas, it’s a great pitstop when we’re running errands on the Peninsula. I hardly run into people there anymore so more often than not were the only ones there and it feels safe. Sometimes the parking is being used by the people at Dennis the Menace park but usually you can find a parking place. I’ve never had an issue with another dog there though there was one dog owner that was so mean to his dog and left his dog on the leash while in the dog park. I had to leave because I felt he might be nicer to his dog if he didn’t have an audience. Now that I write this, I should’ve at least said something before I left not that it would’ve done any good, but I should’ve told him he was a really...

If you have kids under the age of about 10 this is the one of the best parts I ever taken my kids to they have a great time here it's pretty big it's got surrounded by a leg and have some very interesting things for them to do be safe they just covid is made Parks a little strange but it is still fun and still amazing it is kind of themed on a popular character Dennis the Menace and if you have time I highly recommended there's no entry fee but please look ahead to find out the times it is open as the covid 2/2 made it close on certain days and attached to it is a baseball park so if you want to watch a little league or watching practice I'm sure they would they are you there's a snack bar but it was currently closed when I went there they do have bathrooms on site there is not a lot of parking in the main parking lot but there is parking sometimes across the street and around the park itself you might...

This is a great Park in the Monterey area. There is a lake with a pathway around it, paddle boats to go out on the lake, Dennis the Menace playground, Sports fields, and much more. It's a great place to take your family and enjoy an afternoon. I went here with my wife and son and we absolutely loved it. We've been here before with our son and will continue to bring him here when we are in the area. He absolutely loves the playground and the walk around the lake is quite nice. The little snack stand next to the sports Fields with open when we were there, and after we were done at the playground and walking around the lake we stopped for some snow cones, and experience our son immensely enjoyed. Whether you're looking to get out and just take a nice walk around the lake or looking for a nice park to bring your family too, this is the place to go...

We've been going to this park since my kids were young specifically Dennis deMenace Park. However, we've never ever walked around or fish the lake. We recently got into fishing so chasing fish planting schedule was part of knowing where the fish are. Since El Estero Lake still received a trout plant in May, we decided to fish the lake to see what we can catch. As per this recent visit, I caught a couple of hatchery trout and my wife caught a handful of large bluegills. Parking was plentiful and lake looked clean. Pathways were clear but as any park with bird wildlife, droppings were a problem. Weather was nice and visitors seemed responsible about keeping their surroundings clean. In lieu of lake swimming, paddle boats were available for rental so visitors can enjoy the lake too. There's a skateboard park too. Overall, El Estero is a nice park.

Something Different!! Perfect Family exercise!! You have 3 choices of water paddling boat of either a Yellow Duck, White Swan, and a regular boat. Each boat seats a Maximum of 4 people. The regular boat is alot easier to paddle and manuever compared to the bigger ones. The water is stagnant so I don't recommend anyone falling in. The water is frequented by birds and ducks. It is a walking distance from the Dennis the Menace Park and the Beach. You only pay around $60 to rent the boat and not as individual. So if you have one or four in your party, you pay the same. Floatation/Life Vest will be provided to all passengers. There is no engine or motor installed on the boat and everything else is Pedal Powered and turned using a rudder. It is a must have event to add to your Vacation.
