El Taco Shop — Restaurant in Montgomery

Terrific new little taco shop - immaculately clean & quaint (they received 100 rating from Health Dept inspection). The staff was outstanding - more than just hospitable & impeccably accommodating, each staff member (including the trainee) was genuinely happy & friendly with every customer interaction, request or question. Sidenote: I'm personally partial to flour tortillas after experiencing their epicurean excellence at DC's Lauriol Plaza (- "hot out of the oven" homemade, thick, puffy & fluffy flour tortillas and they serve just not made on-site, however their corn tortillas are made daily in-house, more labor intensive to make from scratch, just fyi for any corn connoisseurs. Their enthusiasm for providing top quality food, service & overall dining experience was truly impressive, that's no exaggeration, I walked out with my order (I got mine to-go) thinking these folks know what they're doing & take pride in every step of customers' experience - and it shows! I'm sure they will quickly become a popular spot, perhaps even franchise out OR take my unsolicited advice & jump on the Food Truck train and take this Taco Shop on the road - - GLOBAL & MOBILE =...

I tried this place out on a whim about 4 months ago because I always noticed it driving by. I have been back almost once a week since then. So I highly recommend!

The food is great, prices are reasonable and staff is also great even when they are swamped busy! I always place my order online for pickup and never have any issues. My fave are the tik tok Birria tacos, cheese dip and chips and elote. Portion sides are great and food is made to order so it’s always hot and fresh!

They are an authentic Mexican/Hispanic restaurant, and have horchata and fresh salsas and toppings. I’m originally from the west coast and have roots in Texas so I have high standards for Mexican food. Trust, you will NOT be dissappointed here!

I have tried some other local places and they are trash in comparison to this place. Don’t just take my word, try it for yourself!!!

PS: The only thing that would make them 5+ would be if they were on door dash…for those lazy days that I don’t wanna leave my home but still need my fix :) they are on Waitr but I am an annual dash pass...

Pretty good authentic Mexican food. I ordered the birria tacos and was a little disappointed that it was just birria meat on a tortilla. Apparently you have to order the “TikTok” birria in order for it to be made properly. It was a little dry but once you add the sauce and toppings it’s fine. The rice was bland on its own but the refried beans really kick up the flavor a notch. The elote was the best thing I ordered!! I could have eaten 5 it was so delicious. Kinda of skinny and not as full as corn on the cob usually is, but that didn’t change the flavor. The chicken tamale was ridiculously dry. It was not edible as it may have been over cooked or maybe it was old. It was too hard to cut into and the meat was shriveled up. No flavor, almost chocked on how dry it was.
