This place is really good. I honestly went back and forth about whether or not to go with 5 stars. 4.5 for me would be perfect.

Customer Service Great! It's like coming into your aunties house for a plate. The owner, I believe is who greeted us was very nice and welcoming. She was able to share her top selling food items and answer any questions. Another gentleman came in and took over at the register, and he was also very nice.

Food We had the 3 wings and 2 sides plate. It was delicious and piping hot. That was good and bad because it was so hot that it burned through the to-go container that it was in, leaking onto the table. Good thing we ate there. The wings were crispy and juicy. The candied yams sat in juice and were perfectly sweetened. They were really good. The greens were also really good. The hot sauce, as always, set it off. My son had the catfish nuggets with Mac n cheese. The catfish was really good and crispy. You get a lot of fish on this plate! The Mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, but I feel like may have been taken out of the pan too soon. I it were a little more firm, it would be just like my grandmothers. My MIL got the fried pork chop, which looked fried to perfection.

I was in Mongomery, Alabama, for a week, and aside from eating at The House and The Exchange restaurants at the Renaissance hotel, this was the best food we had. It's only about a 5-7 minute drive from the hotel.

This place is a hidden jewel. Dont allow the location steer you away. The service is so awesome and professional and pleasant and greeted with not only a smile but also with love!!! Love the owner energy. First time having ox tails and yesssssss they were soooooo good & tender & very tasty.😋 The gravy was good. I had catfish a few days before the ox Tails & yummy Also. The portions are big Also. Definitely can't eat it all at one time. LoL The cornbread was my absolute favorite. It's better than the muffins but they was good Also. The cabbage has a small kick so if you're not a spicy person don't get the cabbage. The Dressing was good & moist. Didn't need the cranberry sauce but it was good with & without it. The Mac & Cheese was actually cheesy & homemade.... not frozen or made with cheap cheese like I've seen at other restaurants. The Yams OMGoodness theyre so good. So mad I didn't get an extra side of them. My Guy had the porchops w/gravy & he liked them. Okra was yummy. THE catfish was a large portion and fried perfect. A lil too much seasoning for my liking but very good Also. Everything was literally good! 5stars for me both times. Go Try It Now!!!!! Update. 12/13/24 Finalky retied the greens and I love them also. Got my usual oxtails, Mac and Dressings. Yummy Now go...

Well, let me tell you about this place… Great menu, priced reasonably, food is fairly decent. I usually order a vegetable plate, at least that’s been my “go to” over my last 3 or 4 visits and it’s been very satisfying. The greens are seasoned very well, even with a few more stems than I’m used to but the flavor supersedes that. The black eyed peas make me want to order them by the pot!! The green beans are also well seasoned with plenty of white potatoes and onions. HOWEVER, recently they seemed to have switched up on who’s cooking the macaroni and cheese (a big deal in the culture). I ordered my usual and got home and opened my tray to this… 👀👀👀 Of course, I didn’t even attempt to eat that Mac… I still loved my other sides and even the cornbread (which is usually a little too “firm” for my tastes). Just a heads up folks, check your food before you leave to save you some time and anguish. And to J.W. Beverette, standard Mac and Cheese is what we’re looking for, all that extra stuff (velveeta, ricotta, pie crust, raisins, etc.) those other folks putting in the Mac and Cheese these days, let that stay over there with them… Please...
