Otoro Hibachi — Restaurant in Montgomery

Welcome to the food court. A hibachi isn't the first thing that comes to mind in the mall but I welcomed the change. The menu has a lot of favorites and sushi as well. The digital menus are eye catching but kept turning off which was confusing. I tried the sushi and an appetizer for my first time here. I got the University Roll and Crab Rangoon thinking deep fried sushi and a fried app would be a safe bet. Didn't get the option for a fountain drink but I did see cups so I got a bottle. The food is presented well, it's easy on the eyes. The Rangoon was chewier than expected, as Rangoon is never chewy, like maybe it had been fried and then flash fried to heat it back up. The sushi roll was spicy crawfish and crab salad, cream cheese, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. It was passable. I think the hardest part of rating is that the other places in town offering this menu are higher end and this is in the food court. I tried rating with an open mind but since I wouldn't try again I will have to rank it below three stars. I challenge you however to try it and give a new restaurant in Montgomery a fair shake. This was my first time coming here and I was debating on getting the wings or the hibachi. I could’ve sworn I said I wanted the hibachi shrimp but I was charged for the wings but it wasn’t a big deal. After 20 minutes of waiting, The wings were not what I expected.
