Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Montgomery

I really wanted to like this place. The menu did look pretty good so we stopped and went through the drive-through. They do have two drive-Through Lines, but that definitely does not help with the wait time. To be fair, I am comparing this place to Huey Magoos. Which is my favorite chicken joint to eat at in town right now Huey Magoos does not have a drive-through But they do have a pick up window where you pick your food up if you place it online or through their app, which is super convenient super fast hardly no wait times if at all so there’s that issue and then let’s talk about the Price — at Huey Magoos me and- my two kids can eat there for about 23 to 25 bucks -and I even have enough Leftoverfor my lunch the next day.. At Slim‘s chicken it was a total of $34 and some change for me and my two children to get a hot wing plate a kids meal and a macaroni and cheese /chicken bowl. My kids are just about all their food. They did like it, but they also like Zaxby’s ,Guthrie’s Huey Magoos ,& any other chicken tender place ….They’re not hard to make happy when it comes to chicken ——me on the other hand —I was not impressed with the food. It was just OK. It was not bad but it was not worth $34 in my opinion. Which, as I said, I’m comparing it to Huey Magoos and I would only have spent $25 or under there ..then let’s talk about the service —the girl on the speaker @ the drive-through —not nice -not friendly—one of those people that hate their job and take it out on every single person that comes through the drive-through —like we picked that career for her and it’s our fault she has to be there— one of those type. Not to mention there was not even a fork in the bag or ketchup or anything extra but I didn’t ask for it either. I was just ready to go after the long wait but I would think for 34 bucks—-We can at least get you know a fork to eat with my daughter’s macaroni/chicken bowl she got. Hell for $34 that should just be given —some napkins?? something?! I’m not even sure the girl said thank you, or anything else — She handed memy food I don’t think she said one word she just handed food to me and closed the window So that’s probably why I didn’t ask for anything else. The food is not bad. I did really really like the ranch that was my favorite part of my meal was the ranch dressing was really really good. It is house made that was about the only thing that I was impressed about and that’s not enough to make me ever go back again to spend that kind of money and be treated the way we were treated. There’s too many other chicken places to eat at that have friendly staff and the price is much lower. In my opinion,I would be surprised if this place made It’s a full year. I want to share my experience from the opening day at a Slim Chickens location. Despite not being aware of the dining room being opened, I decided to use the drive-thru. When I arrived, there were around 15-30 cars in line, including mine. I waited for approximately 15 minutes, which is impressive for an opening day. When I reached the window, I could see the staff working diligently and efficiently. Despite the busy atmosphere, everyone remained focused and composed.

I interacted with 4 young ladies: a drive-thru order taker, a food runner, and 2 drive-thru operators. Each of them was friendly and composed, making the service exceptional. The staff worked hard to manage the line while delivering great service, which is something I value highly.

As for the food, I ordered a side salad and a brownie dessert jar. The side salad was simple, yet well-prepared with fresh greens, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and croutons with a choice of sauce. The Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing (Ken's) was delicious.

Now, let's talk about the dessert jar. The presentation was impressive, and the dessert exceeded my expectations. The jar itself was a delightful surprise. I would return to Slim Chickens for this dessert and the exceptional service alone. I also want to commend the leaders and the team at this location for their hard work and representing the Slim Chickens brand well.

This was my first experience with Slim Chickens, but not my last, and I now look forward to visiting another location to see if the exceptional service is consistent across all their outlets. Overall, the service at this establishment surpassed my expectations and even rivals other fast-food chains in the area, specifically the "red chicken place" just down the road. Slim Chickens: A Disappointing Experience

UPDATE: the pending charges have been removed from my bank account after 4 days. I am not sure if it correct itself or because I've reached out to Slim Chickens customer service.

I recently ordered from Slim Chickens for the first time and was met with a series of unfortunate events. Not only did I encounter technical difficulties with the app, but the food I received was subpar.

App Issues and Unauthorized Charges:

Payment Errors: The app repeatedly failed to process my payment, despite multiple attempts. Unauthorized Charges: To my surprise, my credit card was charged twice, even though the app indicated that the order had not gone through. Customer Service: I contacted Slim Chicken's customer service immediately but have yet to receive a response. UPDATE: they responded and we emailed back and forth a few times. The two pending charges finally disappeared but I am afraid to try the Slim Chickens app again.

Food Quality:

Dry and Cold Sandwiches: Both the Cayenne Ranch and Big Dill sandwiches were dry and cold, lacking the expected flavor and texture. Inaccurate Representation: The Big Dill sandwich did not resemble the advertised image, as it lacked the promised fried pickle. Unpleasant Atmosphere: The restaurant itself was marred by an unpleasant odor, likely due to poor sanitation practices. Overall, my experience with Slim Chicken was extremely disappointing. The combination of technical issues, poor food quality, and an unpleasant dining environment has left me hesitant to recommend this establishment. I am eagerly awaiting a resolution to the unauthorized charges and hope that Slim Chicken will take steps to improve its service...
