Poorly managed hotel.
The hotel itself is just okay. It's clean enough, safe enough, and convenient enough. There's nothing spectacular about it, but nothing horrible, either, about the facility itself, but I'll never stay here again and I'll warn others against it, as well.
Wyndham pushes its rewards program and I'm a loyal Wyndham Rewards member and have stayed at Wyndham properties exclusively over the past three years, qualifying for their highest level of membership rewards: Diamond.
If you're a Diamond level member you are qualified to receive an upgrade to a suite without additional charge upon check-in, provided the property offers suites and there's one available. For the first time EVER, the person working the front desk - and then someone identified as the manager - argued with me about this specific perk. There were at least 8 King suites available when I checked in and, not only did I have to ask for the upgrade, I was lied to.
I was first told that I was already checked in and she couldn't change my room. Then I was told she could upgrade me with an additional charge, then I was told that I should take the room assigned to me and check back later to see if any suites were available. I pushed back and eventually the person identified as the manager told me that I was only entitled to a one room-type upgrade and that would be a King Studio Suite. The hotel website didn't list any room types as a King Studio Suite, but did list King Deluxe rooms as well as King 1-bedroom suites.
After an hour's worth of arguing, I ultimately accepted the "King Studio Suite" which was actually a King Deluxe and not a suite, according to their website. After settling in my room, I searched the Wyndham app on my phone as well as the Wyndham website to see if I'd missed this one-level upgrade detail on any of their customer-facing websites or program details. I couldn't find it anywhere, which is not to say it doesn't exist, but I couldn't find it.
Everywhere that Diamond Level perks are mentioned, it says "SUITE upgrade". Furthermore, I've stayed in a TON of Wyndham hotels and no one has ever refused me a suite, if one was available. NO ONE. Generally, I have to request the upgrade, but really well-run properties actually acknowledge my Diamond level and offer me the upgrade as well as a Welcome Amenity, which is also part of the Diamond level perks. It didn't happen at this property, either.
Overall I felt I was lied to and the encounter was incredibly...
Read moreMy check in went smooth and quick. I got to the property late at night and the young lady at the front desk was cordial and helpful. I paid for 3 nights and unfortunately, on Saturday afternoon, we had an emergency and had to leave around 6pm. My family and I (4) started to load the car with our bags, and by the time that I came back to return my keys to the front desk, the lady working said: "There you are!" Immediately I felt uncomfortable due to the suggestion that I was trying to sneak out after already having paid my full stay. Then she proceeded to let us know that we had to pay a fee equivalent to an extra night in order to check out early. I had not heard of this rule at a hotel before and did not think it was logical to have to pay extra for leaving early. How was I expected to pay a 4th night for leaving early using only 2 of my 3 nights paid already? She insisted that she had to charge me and rudely asked me if I had never traveled and stayed in a hotel before. It was very difficult to have a civil conversation with her without losing patience. In attempt to avoid arguing with her I asked her for the customer service number and she gave me the front desk number. I sat in the lobby calling the number until she admitted she gave me the front desk number because she thought I meant I was going to call the front desk the next day. This was extremely frustrating. At this point I googled the customer service number and explained the situation. They told me to leave and apologized for the rude treatment on behalf of the front desk lady. Most importantly they informed me there was no reason I should be getting charged extra. I went back to the front desk to leave the keys and I let her know what she told me about the extra charge was not true. She replied: "I never told you I was going to charge you an extra night!" I could not believe she said this to me and acted as if she was not trying to charge a fee after almost an hour of trying to figure out this situation. My trip ahead was an 8 hour drive and we were trying to swiftly and smoothly leave the hotel in the midst of urgent family situation. It's unbelievable how people like this woman could be at a front desk dealing with customers and being the face of...
Read moreI wouldn’t even give one star if I didn’t have to. I reserved this hotel room 40 minutes away from the RC event I was attending due to two reasons. They advertised an indoor pool and great reviews. Let me begin by saying this place is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The indoor pool isn’t even heated, which isn’t made known until check in. Then I get to my room around 10pm and the attendant at the front is super nice and friendly. The only thing I liked about my stay was the bed was comfortable, that was it. We checked in on a Thursday night. The room we got wasn’t only worth maybe 40-50 a night. Not the 89 a night I paid. If I wasn’t super tired from driving then I would’ve checked right back out. The outlet in the bathroom didn’t work. The end table was barely hanging on the wall. The outlet attached to it didn’t work. The shower wasn’t clean. They gave me one room key for two adults. I asked for a second one and she says she has to charge for it. Then proceeded to tell me that those keys are very expensive. Saturday around 1-2am someone starts blasting music from down the hall. My husband let them know about it. Then that same day around 1pm the hotel calls and says we left all our things and we were supposed to check out. They tried to say hotels.com didn’t pay them for my entire reservation Thursday- Sunday, which was a lie. Hotels.com called them and then the hotel miraculously can see the full payment after that. Oh and if it’s not bad enough the place was nasty. The luggage carts had trash on them when we checked in and the same trash on them when we checked out. (Forgot to mention that there was barely any lighting, see pictures below)I am posting pictures for that and my hotel room. This is a sorry excuse for a hotel. Don’t stay here. You will be wasting you money like I did. After my pet fee, taxes and room cost I paid 376$ for a room that wasn’t even...
