My family and I have been going to this Applebee’s for quite awhile. We usually have a good time, but tonight all of that has changed. When we walked in the door the greeter was very kind and asked us “How many?” There was no line and the place wasn’t crowded. After telling him “5” he continued to ask me for my personal contact information. I thought that was strange because this has never happened to my family and I on any of our other evenings out at our local restaurant. I continue to give them my personal information only to turn around and my wife and daughter are being yelled at by who I can only assume was the bartender. Screaming at them that “they can’t be in here without a mask on”. I pause for a moment and look around at everyone in the restaurant and nobody besides the staff had a mask on. We let him know that it would only be 30 seconds or less to seat us and then we wouldn’t have to ware them. The bartender then proceeded to run to get his boss or the manager. The manager sheepishly wandered out from the back and looked as if he didn’t want to get involved. After a minute of back and forth my family and I left the restaurant saying “that we won’t be back”.
This is where it all starts, close down all the family run small businesses. Once their out of the way impose policies that force people to do things they can’t or won’t do and deny them service if they refuse. It’s time to stand up for...
Read moreStopped in yesterday around 4pm. This is now the SECOND time in a row that we walked out. We are NOT returning until we hear of a turnover in staff!
You can literally feel the tension and bad atmosphere as soon as you step foot in there😳
Both times, NO ONE greeted us, even though they made eye contact with us! We were completely ignored. They are clearly understaffed, and the staff that they DO have are crabby and rude!!!
The big female bartender clearly hates her job, and takes it out on the customers. We sat up at the bar top both times, and couldn't even get service. When she finally came over to the bar, she bitterly muttered to us that she 'has to make some drinks first before she gets to us'. Her nasty, low tone of voice and scowl on her face was SO RUDE that we got up and walked out!
It is understandable that service can be slow when there isn't enough help, but DON'T BE RUDE TO YOUR PATRONS!!! It is not our fault that you are understaffed!
Fyi: An acknowledgment and a smile can go a long way!
If you want friendly service from a nearby dining establishment, check out Trails in Big Lake or Rancho Grande in Monti. Applebees staff: visit one of these restaurants so you can learn what customer service means, and hopefully you will start implementing it at your own restaurant. You...
Read moreWent in tonight 8/15 as it was my daughters 8th birthday and she chose this place to eat. When the waitress came to great us, she hinted that she was having a bad day, was off putting. We ordered drinks, my wife got water w/lemon, I got a soda w/out ice, kids got chocolate milk and lemonade. When my wife stirred her drink tons of black pieces swirled around. We still are not sure what it was. She didn't ask for a new one, since the waitress seemed to be having a rough time and had previously mentioned she is "taking it hour by hour". We did however let her know it was our daughters birthday. (she said my daughter would get a free dessert, but didn't know her options) when our food came, the adult food came first, then the kids, about 2 minutes between the adult and kids items. When the food arrived, the forgot my wife upgraded side and mine (bacon mac n cheese) had one cube of the bacon and sprinkled shredded cheese that didn't even melt, it was definitely microwavd. At the end, we were kinda over it. I paid at the table using the tablet and the waitress from that point on avoided us. My daughter never got her desert. Finally, 3.5 hours later I've been having pretty strong discomfort from the food. My stomach is turning up side down...DO...
