This place has been here a long time and I've always loved it. I'd rate the sushi and sashimi as very good to great. Staff always very nice and courteous. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience here recently and I won't ever be going back. We ordered the sushi and sashimi platter (enough for two people). It comes served on this big wooden platter that looks like a boat. Right after the waitress puts it down on the table and walks away, a cockroach crawls out of the inside of the boat. It is brown and shiny and scuttles extremely fast...without a doubt, it is a cockroach. The four of us at the table all see it. I jump up and flag the waitress over and tell her what happened. She takes the platter over to the sushi counter, she and the chefs open the boat and tell me oh, there's a few drops of sauce in here so that must be what you saw. That was rather insulting and I told them, drops of sauce don't run on legs. They act like this has never happened before, that we could not have possibly seen a cockroach. The thing is, if you actually see a cockroach somewhere it means thousands are not far away. Of all the restaurants I've eaten at in my life, from the fancy to the hole-in-the-wall, never have I seen a cockroach run across my plate. I am going to have nightmares about this for a long time, and I am incredibly sad that I can't ever go back to this place that I have loved...
Read moreWe ordered takeout from here and it was awful. I got 3 rolls of cooked seafood. My boyfriend got chicken w/shitaki mushroom sauce. His was just “ok” and “nothing to write home about. My rolls however were all shoved together in a small rectangle container. They were warm, dry, pasty and hard to remove because they were all shoved together and some turned on their side because of one being a tempura. Also, there was no ginger or wasabi given at all. When I was eating it, it tasted really bad. Low sodium soy sauce couldn’t make it better. Later that evening I was so sick and the next day as well. I got some type of food poisoning. We will never go back. My boyfriend suggested Johnny Roll House but right now I am now too afraid to eat sushi for probably...
Read moreThe food was delicious, loved the miso soup and the shrimp tempura especially. The salad was also really good, it had some ginger paste and normally, i’m not a fan of ginger but this was so good!
The service was amazing. The staff were super attentive and friendly. We came for my sister’s birthday and they sang so well.
The atmosphere was really pretty and comfortable seats. Loved the place and it’s definitely a go to spot...
