Taqueria La Unica — Restaurant in Montville Township

Ok so it was payday today and decided to reward myself. I was craving some tacos. I found this hidden gem in Pine Brook. I have lived here all my life and apparently they've been here for a year now! I ordered the Al Pastor Tacos, suuuuuper delicious and well seasoned. Tacos came with several sauces, salsa, salsa Verde, pineapple sauce and to my surprise habaneros with onions. I was so hungry I didnt realize they were habaneros. Lol oops super spicy. I had tres leches next--DEVOURED that haha I was trying to make the spicyness go away. It was so creamy oh my, and the perfect slice. Not too much and it wasn't too sweet in my opinion. I had ordered a nachos with beefsteak to go and again to my surprise a massive tray comes out hahaha could feed a family of 8. Guys this is a great place, it is a bit small only few tables. A welcome addition to the Pine Brook area considering we don't have much variety for lunch (I work in the area). The food is authentic, delicious & super fresh, the portions are large & filling. The atmosphere is vibrant, although I haven't dined in, only picked up. The staff I have encountered is friendly. Unfortunately, service is VERY slow - you absolutely must order ahead or you will spend majority of your lunch break waiting for your food. While quality food does take time & it is appreciated, I can't guarantee that I will make it back on time & it makes me second guess going there for lunch. Hopefully, this is something they can work out by adding more hands in the kitchen because it would be a shame for this place to suffer due to lack of help. Overall, if you have the time, I definitely recommend stopping by, you won't be disappointed...

This place has horrible service. Took over one hour to get tacos??!!! Totally ignored my assistant as she was waiting for our order that was supposed to be 20 minutes, would not look at her, kept ignoring her. When I showed up to get my money back, she pointed at the bag, I told her it was insane that it took over an one hour for tacos, she said they were busy BUT THERE WAS NO ONE THERE WHEN WE PLACED OUR ORDER.
