I decided to try a new place for breakfast. This was the place, so lets dive right in…. PARKING- horrible- most, all but 3, spots are in the back of the building and down a slight grade. So in winter, rain or have any trouble walking - forget about it. REAR ACCESS- there are steps. I can understand this because the parking is in the back, but still a negative. FOOD- VERY LIMITED selection. Ordered the veggie omelet, home fries and sour dough toast with coffee. The omelet was pretty tasteless. Now the home fries were good as was the toast. The bread was fresh and buttered perfectly to my taste. The COFFEE- ok… I have had some bad coffee at restaurant but this coffee was the worst I have ever tasted. First I taste the coffee just to taste it, before adding anything I like because i want to know the quality of it as served. The coffee was so bad that there was nothing I could add to make it even drinkable. PRESENTATION - the food was served on a very small plate. As I looked around all meals were being served on the same sized plates. This may make sense from a cleaning/ preparation standpoint of the establishment, but for the customers this is a large negative. If the plates were larger in size this would be a non-issue. DECOR- the atmosphere was good. Some old music album covers in the wall, a joke or two hanging. Nice looking floors and seats. Basically what you would expect from a small restaurant.
This is the first time I was dreaming I would have decided on the Bob Evans...
Read moreI am in town for business and always depend on reviews when I travel. This place had such good ratings, I had to give Sunday breakfast a try on my way out of town. While I didn't have my handicap placard with me, there was only one place out front for handicap and I'm not sure if it's wheelchair accessible. However, that's not an issue for me. I parked in the back down a fairly steep hill and climbed a steep set of wooden stairs to get to the patio dining.
Awesomely cute vibes. I chose to sit inside which was equally as diner-adorable. And packed.
Service was quick and efficient. I only wish I could say the same for my food. I thought they would turn tables over more quickly than they did. I didn't time them but I checked the time on some messages I'd sent some friends. It took 25 minutes for my basic breakfast to come out.
I got two eggs over easy, extra crispy bacon, a pancake, hash browns and sourdough toast. Everything was fabulous.
When I went to pay, the cashier area was far too congested and I had a mild panic attack thinking about entering the throng. Luckily I had cash and just left it on the table. No change meant for a great tip and that's okay.
Be prepared to stay a while but that's alright because the...
Read moreThe food and customer service was excellent. I like that the TV had closed captions turned on. It wasn't particularly disability friendly because the primary entrance is in the rear and requires stairs, but there are wheelchair accessible spaces by the front door. The owner/manager is attentive and incredibly kind to her staff. She was eager to help her staff out and always referred to them by their names. I appreciated that they don't have any single use plastics and even use paper straws. The food was well priced with huge portions and tasty. Even though the food took a while, it seemed perfectly fine because of how busy it was was and how attentive the server was. I would have appreciated it if the cooks were wearing hairnets over their long hair and beard. Ialso would've liked to have seen the staff and customers wearing masks. Some servers did wear a mask but there didn't seem to be any expectation which was disappointing. I loved the diner energy, lots of personal photos of grandkids above the register, and mismatched coffee mugs. I got a Teddy Bear...
