So, I took some real Italians from Italy for Italian food. As they said, the only Italian thing in that restaurant was them.
They enjoyed their appetizers and the bread. The penne vodka was very cheesy. The chicken Sorentino (which doesn't exist in Italy) lacked flavor. I had a steak and ordered it medium. It was rarer than medium, but I never send food back. I'll just fix it at home. The more medium parts were good. Served with a potato croquet which didn't seem fresh, meaning it was made a while ago and fried up as needed. I could be wrong, but that was the ones we got. They use lots of garlic. It's on everything. The servers are very nice and accommodating. The place is not the best but not the worst inside. The skylight we were sitting under didn't look too good. Could be brighter meaning the lighting.
It wasn't overpriced, so that was good. Is it american-ized Italian food, yes. It it good...it's middle. It's not leaving a memory which is how I rate a place. Not a good memory and not a bad one. We all have had a few of those. Again, nice people, very accommodating and good service. I wish something we ordered would have been wow, but it's not...
Read moreShould have left this review sooner, but here I am. I got married last year November 2022 & we wanted a place to have a small intimate dinner for 27 people. This place went ABOVE & BEYOND. The staff was amazing, one of the servers even let my best friend borrow her slippers because her heels had no grip and she kept slipping on the floor. They let us set up early since we had to be at the court at 2 but dinner wasnt until 5:30, they gave us a main table and put pony walls up to separate us from the rest. Honestly I didn’t even notice the other people in the restaurant it was still very intimate. The food was amazing as well. & the cost for everything even with open bar was so affordable, we didn’t regret our decision at all. And loved that we were able to have our closest family and friends while enjoying good food and great service. Thank you! We would do another event here in...
Read moreI've been to Segovia SO many times being that it's in the area and years ago it would have been 4 stars but I feel like it's been falling off lately.
Like another Yelper said, it really is hit or miss. Their appetizers have neer disappointed. All of their seafood appetizers are always fresh, cooked perfectly and have great sauces. The Salads that come with dinner are always great as well. The issue I have is with their entrees. I always get the same thing hoping it will be better so maybe it's my own fault for trying another dish. I always get the Shrimp Ajillo. It's way too oily for me. You can see the pool of oil on the place and the flavor just isn't there.
I absolutely love this dish at Meson Madrid (Same family owns that) so I can't figure out why Segovia just can't get...
