Jumbo Garden — Restaurant in Moonachie

So first I find making reservations odd. Why do they have tables of 4 but can't hold reservations for 4 but they ACCEPT a party of 5. That almost made me turn away from this restaurant but I tried it anyway.

So went on a Friday night......I will get straight to the nitty gritty:

Service was ok, not spectacular. Place was clean. They have a parking lot.

So started off with 3 apps (my faves from top to bottom) Oysters with spinach, parm and garlic Raw Oysters Garlic Shrimp

I must say they were all delicious but the sauce which was more like a spinach dip for my first app was phenomenal....just dip the free bread into that crack sauce and you are hooked.

Dinner was shared family style (faves top to bottom) Skirt Steak Churassco with Chimichurri (cooked medium) - steak was cooked perfect but it didn't come enough with the homemade potato chips (yah I'm greedy cuz they are sooooo good). Also came with yellow rice and veggies.

Paella Valenciana w/ 1/2 a lobster - chicken was a bit dry. I didn't think it was my best Paella but it was good.

The desserts Creme Brulee - my fave....cracked perfectly on top and the Creme was delicious topped with sliced strawberries

Flan - Not a big fan....I like it more rich

Chocolate Volcano - Did NOT care for this at all. Chili's molten cake is 10x better.

One big con I did not like about this place is receiving our coffee/Tea 5 min after dessert was served. That's a big NO NO.

35$ for the most miserable amount of food. The portions cannot be correct. This is absurd. I understand inflation is affecting every business But this was straight up theft, deceit, greed, and plain bad business practice. I asked the woman in the counter if there were missing items or if she got the size orders mixed up and she began to raise her voice about what I ordered. I said I know what I ordered I see it in front of me but I’m asking about the size. I said the containers look half empty and she began to laugh.. menacingly as if she knew it is being done purposefully! I had no choice but to kindly thank her yet express my concern about the portion size. I highly suggest avoiding this particular Chinese restaurant and driving a a mile down the road...

I can’t give this place not even a half of star they are raciest from my experience I went there to place an order and I was about to used Apple Pay the lady card or cash so I said no problem I’ll get my wallet she then told me that she’ll start my order when I pay so I left to get my wallet on the way I said let me call it in so it would be ready when get back with my wallet I gave her the order over the phone and she told me the same thing that I have to pay first but when I was waiting to place my order you got people coming to pick up order and then pay but the black guy got to pay first before they started my order now if that’s not raciest this was my first and last time stepping into...
