Just left there. I had been wanting to try it ever since I saw it on the upside app. I didn’t really feel like pizza, but some Italian food did sound good. The slices appeared a little undercooked, so I decided to go ahead and spend the money on a Meat Lasagna ($11.99). I was pretty disappointed they refer to it as lasagna. Seemed more like tomato soup with mozzarella and a few noodles on the edges. Small pieces of meat were throughout the cheese. The first bite I took, I thought “oh, that has really good flavor”. But I really like the tomato taste, so maybe it was that. I wouldn’t get the meat lasagna again. I may revisit and give the pizza a try. The “Garlic” bread that came with the meal was more like bread minus the garlic. Very disappointing there wasn’t any garlic flavor, but the bread was really well cooked. Very fresh. The drink I got was lacking carbonation too, so something else to be disappointed in. So in summation: Ambiance good. Staff friendly and good. Flavor okay. Lasagna was a soup (no layered noodles). Cost above average. No military discount would be another strike when comparing to other local restaurants.
Slices are $3.75 which are very cost effective. I was just disappointed in the lasagna i received for $11.99. Olive Garden is better and cheaper....
Read morethe crust is definitely new york style but if anyone ever had pizza in new york this place cant compete in nyc. they reheat the slices and if you ever done this at home for leftover pizza it turns any decent pizza into crunchy firm crust. i would rate the pizza here about 3.5 for the slices. the actual whole pies arent reheated ofcourse so i wouldnt know the consistency of the crust. the slices have an acceptable amount of firmness when it comes to crust to be called new york style. as for service they seem to be lacking common training for food service cashiering. the workers dont communicate with eachother and thus i was charged for 3 slices by the cashier who blamed me for charging me for an extra slice. then refunded me for one slice and told me the refund would be put back into my card when i paid him with cash just two minutes prior. when i walked in i wasnt greeted the guy up front just stared at me like an alien from another planet just walked in so i had to initiate the process of ordering. i rate the service here 1.5 stars merely because they werent rude and only because they werent rude. 3.5 + 1.5 = 5 and divided by two categories and its 2.5 but i would rather give the experience 2 stars over 3 so this place gets 2 stars for...
Read moreFriendly service, horrible food. (Note: I did not order pizza.)
I'm disappointed to leave this review, I had high hopes for this place. I ordered a meatlover calzone and an Italian sub.
The calzone was average quality and well-portioned. Plenty of cheese and meat, of very average quality and an excellent crust with perhaps a bit too much garlic butter.
The sandwich was rubbish. A huge, thick bun of tasteless Italian white bread without enough toppings to offset all the bread. The dressing, which came on the side, tasted low-quality and greasy.
Service bordered on obnoxious. I stepped up to an empty counter in an empty restaurant, said I was there to pick up a carryout order - and the "helpful" person at the counter told me that I really should try a slice of pizza instead of the items I'd already paid for. He wasn't wrong, but that would have been much better advice when I placed the order, rather than after I had already paid.
Note to owner: Fix your sandwiches. They are an embarrassment and you should feel...
