Took my senior citizen mother to this location last night and decided to dine in because the restaurant was practically empty. This was our first time at this location because we live in Norman,OK where our local McAlister's is amazing.
When I placed our order, I noticed a generic sign on the cash register which explained that they have no pickles and that all ham will be served with a substitute product. (?) This sign was concerning, but not a show stopper. When our order came out to our table, I was under impressed with the lack of serving ability because the same girl who had been sweeping the floor around us just put her cleaning supplies down and grabbed our plates and was now standing in front of me. She didn't say anything, just stood there, until I had to tell her that the salad was mine. This is where things went downhill fast.
Our order was pretty simple, signature McAlister club for mom and Chicken and Avocado salad for me. As I said earlier, I know what each of these plates should look like because we are loyal customers of the Norman McAlister establishment. The orders sitting in front of us were not right, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was a young girl who offered an excuse for the lack of attention to detail. Manager says, "the girl preparing your salad had to take an emergency phone call, so maybe she forgot.....the guy at the sandwich station, I just don't know what happen..." (no bacon on the signature McAlister sandwich and zero avocado on the Chicken & Avocado salad). To her credit, the manager did take the meals back for a "redo" and offered us a dessert for our trouble. After the manager brought our corrected plates back to our table, she disappeared - nobody came back to check up on us or verify that everything was well. Unprofessional and just poor management skills.
I'm disappointed in the lack of attention to detail that seems to be accepted behavior at the Moore restaurant. I took the time to write this review to simply identify poor management and basically warn others about the potential of being highly disappointed if they make the mistake of visiting the Moore, OK...
Read moreEmployees standing around chatting and/or wandering about seemingly aimlessly while (a) trash on the kitchen floor goes ignored, and (b) no fewer than two members of management, including the general manager, are present onsite.
Can you get original chips with your order? Nope, they're all of of stock. They're "sorry," but it's "the warehouse's fault for sending only jalapeño and BBQ flavored chips." During the same visit, they again express "sorry" that your chicken salad sandwich took so long for the kitchen to get out (while you stand at the counter watching multiple staff wander and/or chat as they seek to pass the time).
McAlister's definitely believes in "sorry," but absolutely does not believe in "complimentary." So expect sorry, but do not expect so much as a complimentary day-old cookie as some sort of meaningful gesture of how sorry they are('nt).
McAlisters' receipts encourage the customer to provide ''valued'' feedback, and management's responses to other negative feedback read like the most heartfelt expressions of regret. They talk about how they've passed your review on to the restaurant's General Manager, the Regional Director, and the company's Chief Operating Officer so they are made aware of the issue and can address them with their team.
Wonder when they'll get around to addressing these issue customers have brought to their attention, for which they have such regret and are ever so sorry?
Despite all of this internal sharing of your negative review among upper management in order to make them aware, definitely do not hold your breath awaiting a response from the franchisee's regional director (the Saxton Group), because they're apparently focused on touting their 2 billion sales milestone, while the dysfunction at the warehouse and local...
Read moreI've come here many many times. Just a repeat customer. And we own a business here in Moore. I'm amazed with the amount of disgrace and disrespect I was spoken with yesterday. I ordered the choose 2. I had said I wanted a turkey sandwich and asked for a potato. The potatoes were out as usual. So there was a misunderstanding when I said just go ahead and give me a salad instead of the potato. He assumed that I meant just give me a salad instead of the choose two. He was very pleasant. But he seemed to get my husband's order wrong as well and attempted to charge him when it was supposed to be free. The girl with the dark hair brought the salad to the Table and nearly jumped me. Because I told her that was the wrong order. She was so caustic and unpleasant and without any respect. Honestly, I would never treat anyone that way. Because I have a business here in Moore and I know better. Word of mouth is everything for business. She was infuriated that I was telling her that was the wrong order. Visibly infuriated. I just decided not to make a fuss and ate the salad and let it be. But as a grown woman I Do not like being spoken to like this by a barely 20 something little know it all
However, my weekly trips will no longer be at this mcalister's. I love the manager They've always been kind to me over the years, but that kind of behavior is abysmal and incredibly rude. I hope someone calls her on it And she learns to...
