Today was Ice Cream day, needless to say this DQ was packed, the staff did absolutely wonderful for how short staffed they were considering the tasks at hand. My whole experience was about an hour long, from 1:30-2:30 or so. I was originally in the drive thru, however when I got to the window I was having car trouble with the engine overheating so I told the employee I’d come inside to pay as I wanted to pull over before my car shut down. I go inside, wait in line, very packed, many people waiting, several families with their children, and some grumpy middle aged men who thought they were kings or something bugging the gentlemen serving out the food about where their food was. Anyway I get to the counter, explained I had to pull over in the drive thru, just wanted to simply pay and get my food, the cashier didn’t seem like she knew what to do and said I might have to go back in the drive thru, I said I could just hand her my card and she go to drive thru to pay, my car nearly broke down but I had already ordered. she spoke to the manager and they were doing something so she was waiting, but I asked her to keep helping customers, it seemed I was forgotten about so I left. That’s not the issue however, the cashier was absolutely lovely, the gentlemen serving the food was kind and patient, both kept their cool in the business. The cashier at the drive thru was wonderful, the what I think to be the male manager helping in the kitchen was wonderful with his patience and taking initiative multitasking. However what I think to be the female manager, I wish she treated her employees better. They were understaffed and everyone looked lost. She was speaking to the employees who were looking for direction from her as if they were less than and that is very disappointing to see. Everyone was amazing, but when it came to when they needed guidance from this female manager she did not step up to the plate, granite she was focused on her own tasks, but she almost belittled the cashier about an ice cream ticket issue in front of the customers and this is very poor leadership. Moral of the story, some of the managers did not effectively lead...
Read moreI placed a mobile pick up order and drove to the store, just over a mile from my home. We arrived at the store at 8:30 pm. I finally left the store at 8:59 with my blizzards in hand. So much for ordering ahead for convenience. I watched no fewer than 10 drive thru orders pass through the window while I waited. It wasn't until I asked the young man at the counter to get me the manager and ask about my order that it finally got completed. They did appear greatly understaffed, and I understand that, so many places are.. That said, the manager seemed more concerned with telling people what to do than actually getting food out. He went as far as looking at the food on the counter and instead of handing it out to the customers, he walked over to the obviously overwhelmed young man working the counter and TELLING HIM to do it instead. He could have just as well taken care of those customers himself. I gave 2 stars because at least when I FINALLY got it, it was good. I refused to let the kid serve it to me tipped over because God forbid, if it did dump out it would have taken them FOREVER to replace it. I'm not going to fault the kids working, the problem lies with the manager for not pitching in other than pointing at screens and telling people what to do. A GOOD manager picks up the slack when understaffed. This...
Read moreI have been to Dairy Queen in Norman numerous times and they are always great. I was in Moore one day and was in a rush, needed food, and stopped at their DQ. I went through the drive thru and ordered a small snack quesadilla, without onion, and a small drink. I paid, then was made to park & wait quite a while for ONE little 'snack melt'. I finally got the food and continued on to my next destination. I looked in the bag and the snack melt quesadilla was all beaten up, everything falling out of it, and the first thing I see, is onion. I was not happy. I drove back to the location, went inside and asked to speak to the manager. The manager appears, who looks like he's barely out of high school, and I explained the mess of my food. I asked for my money back as I then had no time to wait for anything else. The guy gave me back only the money for the snack melt, and still charged me for the small drink. If he was any kind of manager, he would have apologized and given me a full refund, but no. And when he went to hand me two dollar bills, one of them had rips and tears all over it! I then had to ask for a dollar bill that was not falling apart, it was ridiculous! Apparently never go to DQ in Moore on a quiet afternoon on a...
