I had the privilege of being able to travel and eat at many unique restaurants across the US, and I am very happy to say that this local business has brought something new to the OKC/Moore area has lacked that many other places, such as Texas, New York, and California, already have.
For starters, the server experience is very personable, even when the place can be very busy. The servers I had the past few times I went here were able to provide quick hospitality, and if my group were to need something immediately, we were one press of a button away to have our needs met as opposed to having our hands up helplessly. Not only do they do what they are supposed to as servers, but they are also very entertaining and friendly people. The customer service here was one of the main factors on what made me want to consistently come back!
Another benefit that this place has in comparison to a lot of other restaurants is that this place has late opening hours. This provides flexibility for night owls, late workers, and students, and I can personally attest to this. There were times where my cousin had late night shifts from P.A. school, and this location was one of the only places open by the time she was out, and we were more than happy to go here as opposed to our other options.
Finally, the food here definitely succeeds my expectations. I typically order the sizzling cheese buldak, the corn cheese, and the grilled spicy pork, and the place does a great job at consistency. The cheese for the cheese dishes were perfectly melted, and the sauces were definitely flavorful and savory. I ventured and explored more food items the other few times I was here, and I also feel like the japchae, the soondubu, and the skewers (especially the pork one) are also worth getting as well!
This is a really good place to have casual hangouts with friends and family, and I would highly recommend going with a group! Although the food individually is pricey, the cost is a lot more manageable when split as a group. This restaurant has a lot of room for potential and I can't wait to...
Read moreTLDR: JJAN Pocha's Korean food is "Okay" tasting, small portioned, and overpriced. Food: 0/10, You will either go home hungry or broke.
Japchae-$15 This noodle dish is false advertised as for 2, because the portion provided won't make a single person full.
Cup of Rice - $2 the only fair priced item JJAN sells, but their fried chicken($20) and galbi ribs($30) don't come with complimentary rice.
Mussel/Clam Soup - $17, the soup bowl we received was half empty. The soup tasted good. You will still be hungry if you only order soup.
Steam Egg -$9, normal salted egg flavor. No sauces were provided or poured over the egg. Order this dish if you want to get disappointed. You won't feel full after eating this dish. It's on the small side.
Grilled Galbi - $30 - these were the most unimpressive Korean ribs I've had in my life. No char. Basic flavor. Very little onion. My spouse wouldn't eat them. The meat was very fatty(40%) and 10% tough inedible tendon(this is not normally the case with good galbi). You won't feel full after eating the galbi ribs.
Service-1/10 Staff didn't provide/offer any plates for us to share our food on. We asked for a bowl to share the soup. We were given a Styrofoam bowl. Styrofoam is a known carcinogen. It releases carcinogens when exposes to high heat, like Clam soup. I liked the jug of ice water and steel cups they place on customer's tables.
Atmosphere-4/10 Non-functioning-sink in the men's bathroom. It makes me wonder if the staff are even washing their hands. Awesome free parking. Comfortable area to sit. There are no activities to do inside this "bar" besides eat and drink. The seating is fine. The bar isn't too noisy, but it's a little on the cold side. Good location close to...
Read moreAlright! To start off, I've been here twice now and the environment is def more fun and more for young adults and drinkers. NOTE: Not for family- it's a more bar and night scene
What I love! -I love the service button they have on each table. Whenever I need something, I can just click it, I get the service I need. I know a lot of people complained about the service, but my experience have been good so far! Dylan and Luke took care of us last and they were great!
-Bar vibes where you can hang with friends and catch up with drinks and good food.
What i don't love:
The high prices for small portions. EEEEEKKKK -Oh gaw "crying emoji" and I say this because the food amount and price ratio is genuinely off. I understand that prices are up everywhere but this is pretty high for consumers. If I had a better portion of the dishes, I most likely wouldn't complain and would probably come back more often. I had 3 dishes first visit and it added up to 80$ not including tip. I had to give it time to come back again
What I ordered in both visits combine Seafood Pancake 7/10 Tteokkboki 7/10 (very pricyyyy) $16 Kimbob 7/10 Udon jjamppong 9/10 (great broth, but over cooked noodles) Garlic DakGangjung 8/10 $19 pricy for the portions Sizzling cheese buldak $22 (more onions than chicken but the flavor is on point) 8/10 Jjan bossam 3/10 I don't know why people rave about this dish. it's just plain steam pork belly :( But at least the kimchi is good
Anyways that's my honest opinion. Will come back once the drinks...
