First off, I would like to say that I AM A BuenoHead. My first jub at the tender age of 16 was at Taco BuenoHead located on Southside 1-240 around 1978 when it first opened. Thank you Mr. Bron Brown, he was my manager, learned a lot of life lessons from him xerox he was an excellent manager and such a gentleman in every sense of the word. Anyway, we were taught that you acknowledged each customer as they came in you smiled and made eye contact and the customer was always right and if there was something that you as an employee could not fix, grab the manager. I sent my son he is 18 and he is not a knothead, he knows what is what, you know? There was a special that was offered to the BuenoHeads via their emails that they could have a taco platter and or a roll up platter. Well my son was to get one of each. It is quite a drive to Taco Bueno. When my son got their he asked for the bueno head special and he would like one taco platter and one roll platter. The person taking the order said they didn't have a roll platter they just sold the rolls ala carte. My son said explained that it was a special that was given and asked to speak to the manager.for surely the manager would know. Well, this young man, around 17, came to window and introduced himself as the manager and stated without any doubt that there was not anything such as a roll platter being sold in any Taco Bueno even to Bueno Heads. So my son just ordered the rolls ala carte and ordered the sauces which the costs are out of this world, the cost was much more than the platter and he received less food. When my son came home and told me the events I looked at my phone and yes, it confirmed that their WAS indeed roll platter. I immediately called the store and asked for the manager. A young man came to the phone, identified himself as the manager and when I asked his name he asked me to 'Hang on' and I heard the phone drop. An older man's voice answered the phone and HE identified himself as the manager and gave me his name. I told him of the events and he stated he was aware of the BuenoHead special and the rollatter. I told him that the 'little manager' and his staff needs to be aware as they are not aware and are not meeting the.needs or wants of the BuenoHead's expectaions or Taco Bueno's offer. He said very gruffly and rudely "Well, what do YOU want me to do about it?" For one, I would like for you to train your staff when you have a new special or when you have something new. You can also get out of you office and come to the window when someone asks for the manager or come to the phone when someone asks for you instead of some child who will try to take care of a disgruntled customer. That's your job not his, that is what YOU get paid for. As for me, I have NEVER been treated or talked to by anyone like you I will be calling your head office and they will hear about your shoddy work and the way you treat not only your customers but your employees as well! I, for one, will NEVER walk into your store again as long as you are working b here! You won't miss me but I won't miss you eitber! I know he is not the store manager as he was working the night shift, but he shouldn't be working with young adults at all as his work ethics are horrible and he is not a good exam at all! As far as the food goes, the rolls were good, they were fresh. Something was off with the tacos. The shells were old, maybe (?) The shell was bendy not crispy as they should have been and they had a funky old taste making me to pour the contents onto my plate and eat the contents with the fork...that part was good but I wanted the crunch and I must admit I missed it! But not enough to go back there to get ne.a taco ...I believe I will go back to my first Taco Bueno on I-240 sit back, eat my Crispy taco...
Read moreThis Taco Bueno has been around since I can remember. I remember it always being packed after 6:00PM, especially Friday - Sunday. Now I wonder how they even get a line. I haven’t eaten Taco Bueno in YEARS (since before the new one off I-35 was opened). The one by I-35 was extremely disappointing. Nice people, but they could never get my order right, even after I’d go back in and ask them for my correct order. They still couldn’t get it right.
For old time’s sake, I decided to go back to this one from my childhood. The wait times have never bothered me, but the food and the service were highly disappointing. My rice was so hard, I nearly choked on a pellet. We have been the only people in line the last three times I have gone, and every time our food is cold and dry. The sour cream was so liquid it looked like milk.
The kids they have working there are absolutely disrespectful. I went once through the drive thru a couple of weeks ago and the boy THREW my order at me and slammed the window. I went in once with a friend and the girl running the register clearly did not want to be there. Which I understand, people have bad days at work. But please do not take it out on your customers. I went tonight in the drive thru and the girl was angry that I had to repeat my order three times, although I remained patient with her each time I repeated the order (she could have been new for all I know). The last few times I have gone, I never received napkins or cutlery of any kind. If I asked, two out of the three kids clearly found it an annoyance to provide.
I give two stars simply because Taco Bueno holds many memories for me and friends, especially THIS Taco Bueno building. However, I feel there is a lack of organization as well as basic/proper customer service skills.
I think I’ll go back to staying away from Taco Bueno. Both in this town are...
Read moreLast time i will go to this bueno. The last 3 times i have gone here they have gotten my to go order wrong. This time after waiting 15 min for them to make my food i drive home which is a good 5-10 min drive i open the wholelotta box to find what looks to be a half empty box, and i ordered 1/2 tacos 1/2 burittos and i got 12 tacos. No chips and 4 little containers of salsa where theres supose to be a lg salso. I call the store and a guy name jason answeres the phone i begin to tell him that i ordered the whollotta box and ordered 1/2 &1/2, he then interups me and says very smugly that you cant get 1/2 &1/2 so i said a beg your pardon i read it right on the menu you can get 6 & 6 he says oh you got the wholelotta so i reply yep thats what i just said, i then continoue to explain that i got all tacos and i asked for half burritos no lettuce, he interups me again and says burritos dont have lettuce so i said irregardless, my order us wrong and half of it us missing so he says you dont have to be rude just come up here and well fix it. How about the managment of this restaurant stop hiring crack heads that are to busy scratching at the gaping whole on her face long enough to listen to an order? Why should i have to drive all the way back up there to get what i paid for in the first place. This is the 3rd time in a row to get my order wrong. As i decide to just eat what we have its aparent they were running out of meat because all of our tacos had about 1/2 oz of meat almost no cheese and as I take a bite i get a mouth full of grease. Groce save your money to to...
