11/08/2021 around 6:30pm I ordered a medium pizza, 2 individual pizzas, and a dessert. Ordered online, and showed up 6 minutes before my order was ready. It was supposed to be ready at 6:29pm. I went inside at 6:24pm, and didn't speak to anyone until 6:35. I saw 1 20-something employee making pizzas, doing all the cooking. I saw a 40-something employee handling the 2 dine-in families and window. The older employee (I assume was the shift lead) finally approached me at 6:40, and finialized my order, while informing me their employee just showed up 30 minutes late. She gave me an estimated 10 minute wait time. During my wait, I saw the younger employee, working as hard as he could to make the food, keep track of the orders as best as he could, all while the older employee was (what appeared to) degrade and belittle him by her tone of voice and facial expressions. I was not able to make out the conversation. I briefly saw another employee, probably a high school student, shuffle around while trying to get ready for his shift. I saw the older employee take one pizza out the window, clearly exasperated. They went to the back, and I didn't see them for quite some time. I finally spoke to the 20-something employee at 6:50, an extra 20 minutes that I waited for my online order, and double the extra estimated time I was given in person. He had to retrieve the older employee from the back of the kitchen, who was on her phone, and holding a soda can. She popped the can on her way back, gathered my pizzas, and sent me on my way.
I understand everywhere is understaffed. I understand needing to wait. What I don't understand, is how the oldest employee could sit in the back, knowing their situation, and not even being kind to their employee. Food was great. Everyone...
Read moreOur most recent visit was mediocre at best. We chose to go to the restaurant at 9:30 since pulling it up in Google says they are open until midnight. When we arrived we were told that despite what it says online they close in 30 minutes and normally they wouldn't serve us (even though they aren't closed for 30 minutes), but because they have a large party they will be nice and serve us. We were told it would take longer and it sure did. We were the only patrons in there besides the large party and it took them nearly 10 minutes to come take our order. Then we ordered a basic pizza, altering just a couple toppings and a side salad. When it came out the pizza was wrong, but now it's close to the 10 minute mark and they still hadn't brought out the salad, I had to request it again. When they came out to check on us again, I had to request dressing as that wasn't brought with the salad and point out that the pizza was wrong, so they gave us the salad for free. Despite having to pick off toppings, the pizza itself overall was good, and the only reason they are getting the 3 stars. I usually love Donato's but don't plan on going back...
Read moreDo yourself a favor, go to Plainfield instead. Weâve ate at Donatos Mooresville monthly for decades (or ever since they opened). The last 1-2 years it has gone downhill drastically. We had to start ordering extra cheese because they only fill the cheese cups half full, and now the cheese has even started being runny, the consistency of milk. I know theyâre watering it down and filling the cups half full. The wait times are always double what they say itâs going to be and the staff is beyond rude for no reason at all. The last couple months we havenât been going because the prices are so high now for terrible food and service. Weâve been craving Donatos since we wont give our business to Mooresville anymore and happen led to be in Plainfield tonight so we ordered our regular favorites and weâre so glad we gave Plainfield a chance! Food was ready quick, excellent staff and it tasted just like Donatos used too! We will be driving 10 extra minutes to go to Plainfield from now on! There was only one lady working and she was working harder than 5 people do at the...
