Linden Bakery — Restaurant in Mooresville

When I saw over 100 reviews, all 5 stars, I knew I had to try this bakery. It may well be my new favorite bakery. I purchased six items from the case and a breakfast sandwich. Everything is easily big enough for 2 people. Here's my review!

Chocolate chip banana bread - the taste of banana is strong and the texture exactly what you expect from a sweet bread. Delicious.

Morning muffin - this is your cinnamon pastry. It's sugary and sweet and delicious.

Coffee cake - must try. Cinnamon crumble on top and whatever is in the middle makes this so good.

Almond croissant - light and flaky. If you want a pastry with just a touch of sweet, this is the one.

Lemon white chocolate chip cookie. If you like lemon, this is a must try. It has a bold, delicious lemon flavor..tastes like sunshine.

Walnut brownie - chocolate is not my favorite, so this is my least favorite thing. However, it is dense, chewy and decadent, the way a good brownie should be. Definitely try this if you are a chocolate lover

Bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel - the cheese is cheddar and I had them add cream cheese. They egg was fried to perfection, exactly how I like it. The bacon is a good quality, thick bacon. Even with all that goodness, the bagel was the star of this show. This bagel was not as dense as a typical bagel. It was kind of fluffy. I had it toasted and it was the exact right amount of crispy. I happen to love crispy bread and this was exactly how I like it. All together, this crispy bagel and quality ingredients made for a taste bud tingling treat.

I would love to give them 5 star because the food here is amazing, the problem is how long it takes for a to go order. Eating there you expect it will take time, but if you come in for a to go order it will take you 10-15 minutes to order it (they only have 1 cash register) and then another 10 minutes or so for the order to be made. I figured I would get ahead of that and start calling my order in, but then I get there, my food is ready but I have to wait in the same line for 10-15 to pay so its cold by the time I can eat it. They do not have a website or anyway to pay online so you have to wait every time you go. I sincerely hope that the owners read this and invest in an online payment method so people who want to take the food with them can do that without waiting 10-15 minutes when they get there. to end this though, the food is awesome, so if you have 30 minutes to wait for a to go order I would highly...

I was really blown away by the quality of this local bakery. My family has tried almost every single item from their menu and everything is so amazing. Their pastries and bread are all made in house, and you can taste the quality of their craftsmanship. Since all bread is made from scratch it was explained to me that it requires time for it to set and rise, (the sourdough, bagels, croissants, and ciabatta). Some breads are also baked at specific scheduled times to ensure freshness. Therefore, I would recommend to call before you head to the store to double check if they still have some items available since it is only sold in limited quantities, which can be expected since they aren't a corporate business.
