Wait staff is awsome. Decor is well themed for what they're trying to acccomplish. Just quirky enough to give it a different setting. Clean. The only reason for only 3 stars is the blandness of the food. Wings are good but the pizza and calzone we ordered were something I can make at home. The bread was just like normal bakery bread, fresh but no distinct taste. Like eating a sandwhich at home.
I was expecting a New York style pizza....large, thin, flimsy syle. The large size was correct but the bread was all I got. Light toppings, which is ok for buffet prices but when you're paying premium pricing you'd expect to get more than just bread. The stuffed pizza cost me $26 and same concept..nothing but bread That would have been ok if the bread was distinct taste...italian seasoning, salty...something other than just bread you buy at a grocery store.
The toppings were flavorful. Pepperoni just spicy enough. The "meatball" were really shavings that taste like lamb meat, which I liked but the rest of the family didn't.
Garlic knots were same thing. Nothing but bread without flavor. You can see where the dipped them in a garlic butter mixture but still no taste other then plain bread.
Marinara sauce was well prepared. Just no flavor either. Ranch dressing was great.
Ordered the salad with the artichoke in it. Veggies were fresh/crisp and the dressing good.
Nobody did anything wrong. In fact my family of 7 had a wonderful time. We were the last ones out at about 8:30 last night. Crew was wonderful. Just the food was overall plain. I owned a pizza restaurant for a short time and their food tasted like they ordered from US Foodservice and didn't add any proprietary flavorings. Nearly all independently owned restaurants order from US Foods or IGA in our area but to create distinct flavor each place should add some kind of seasonings. Brooklyn Boys taste like they order the product from US Foods and don't...
Read more2014 is when we started enjoying this decent NY style pizza which is always better there, fresh from the oven! The dough is almost always super fresh, pies are always consistently sauced, topped with cheese and their sausage is shaved like parmesan, very nice touch. We almost always go-to the standard cheese pizza and while we love our cheese, we find it to be just right in standard form. Their pasta and meat sauce is also pretty good. We usually get the side order or kids size penne with meat sauce, which is a good compliment to the pie as the main course. Their calzones and white pies are equally good! Their hot subs on 3 separate occasions were less than impressive and very scant of meat or anything other than a toasted roll. That's really our only complaint but everything else has always been at least 95% or better. Everyone has a different bar set for their pizza. We don't like a lot of bread and we don't like the big chain pizza places. This one feels like they value their customers and consistent food. 6 years later, we...
Read moreREALLY DISAPPOINTED! SCREWED UP THE ORDER. We’ve been here several times before. The pizza reminds us of where we grew up. Always takes a long time for fresh pizza to be made. We drive 40 minutes each way to eat there.
I ordered a pepperoni pizza with raw onion on the side. Wife got a pre-made Stromboli. Several issues tonight. First, wife’s food comes out several minutes before my pizza. These guys are supposed to know how to time the food. She was half-done when the “screwed up “pizza came out! They not only cooked the onions but added some “mystery meat” all over!
They said new pizza will be right up. I watched other pizza orders come out before my 2nd pizza did. In the meantime, my wife was finished with her meal.
I went up and asked for my money back! The boss had these young ladies apologize after he made the wrong order! He could give a crap less.
Finally, just to rub salt in it, they only refunded the pizza!! There was an opportunity to try and make it right but they don’t care.
Done with this overrated,...
