UPDATE: Well, shoot. Now I feel bad. I just saw that the manager apparently decided to void my check(comped my food). I told you he was nice! That is pretty exceptional service. Ok. I still hope they remedy the issues with the items I got and maybe make the slice a bit bigger if they keep it at that price. But, try it for yourself if for no other reason than it's a local business and they stand behind their service and quality. Thank you. 😏
Well, this was disappointing. I came by after work specifically because they offered quiche. Online description said quiche with side of fresh fruit for $10.50. Not terrible for both but I got one small (4"?) slice. No fruit. Also it was more bacon than egg. Extremely salty and overcooked. Brown and dry. Also ordered a large iced matcha with vanilla. Specified sweet. However, it was barely matcha, no vanilla flavor, very bland. Green milk. Have yet to try the almond croissant. Looks delicious. Hoping it's not super dry. This was 2nd time trying them. First was better. I'll try again mainly because they owe me fruit. 😋 The manager was nice and did offer that. FYI. . it doesn't come with fruit anymore. Just wrong online. Not worth $10.50 and not good anyway. Bummer. It's...
Read moreCalioh Coffee is a little out of our way to visit often, however, whenever my daughter and I are in that area and get that coffee urge, it is always our favorite go-to spot in Moorpark. It's really quaint inside with some indoor seating as well outdoor seating and the staff are always very friendly and willing to take the time to answer any questions you may have. They have an outstanding "regular" coffee menu (extra hot Mexican Mocha my fave), however, they also have some fantastic "seasonal" menus to choose from as well. Today we tried some of their seasonal offerings. A "Dubia Mocha" and a "Canela Cloud". WOW!! Absolutely delicious and so full of flavor! The "Canela Cloud" has espresso, raw sugar, cinnamon and a vanilla cold foam and the "Dubia Mocha" is a rich mocha infused with pistachio and cardamom. They also offer some great looking items to eat as well, such as avo toast, bagels, empanadas, and misc. baked goods. Highly recommend and just know it's a little bit pricier than your "chain-type" coffee shops, however, the quality and care that goes into their drinks makes it worth the...
Read moreCalioh Coffee is a cozy coffee shop that's in the city of Moorpark. It takes huge influence with Latin inspired food and coffee, as well as some American fare too. The area is cozy and nice. The space seems large, and the vibe is very central American. Open chairs and cool Saltillo tile help to absorb heat and provide cool seating on the inside. The coffees are made well. I tried the Adelita Latte, which is inspired by the Cafe de Olla. With a signature blend of syrup and spices. The drink was just right in temperature and tasted fantastic. They also serve sandwiches for lunch or empanadas as well. I tried the seasonal offering, which was the Italiano. A nice cool Sami with the appropriate amount of ingredients for a hot day. The bread was a rustic loaf, with cool pickles, cheese, and meats to help balance it all out. They threw in a side of chips, and I was all set. Overall, it is a fantastic small shop that is definitely worth the time to visit and discover what drinks fancy...
