Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Morehead City

Jimmy John's is our favorite sub place. It's inconvenient enough that they close at 5 pm. But we plan around it. JJ is my 6 year old's favorite thing. So the other day we raced home, got ready, and rushed there to make it before 5. Planning to grab some subs and go to the beach.

I got there at 4:45 to see two employees cleaning up, one told me they were closed. "But it's not 5 o'clock yet," I said. She told me that the delivery driver had to leave early so they were closing. It didn't make much sense, you'd think they could have stayed open for customers who were coming into the restaurant. I was a little caught off guard and upset that I'd have to tell my 6 year old we weren't getting his favorite food. I said "Your hours are very inconvenient" or something like that, and the woman got an attitude with me and told me I could find someone to work there if I wanted them to be open. I get it, places are short-staffed. But they couldn't stay open for 15 more minutes? And those two people couldn't make a sandwich? Not to mention the attitude was uncalled for.

We went to Jersey Mike's which seemed to have plenty of employees who were courteous and nice. My son liked it after I got him to stop crying about "his Jimmy John's". Guess we'll just go there...

Ordered online .. 10 before close got to the store 5 till . Didn’t think it would be a big deal since they usually get the subs made very quickly and would in and out before they closed. I was wrong they locked the door already . I got the cashier’s attention when she realized I had ordered via the app. Let me in and explained that they had closed the kitchen early , she kept telling me it’s ok it’s ok . I guess for her it was since she got to close early but stayed on the clock till afterwards it seems. The only upside is I got offered a refund but I won’t see it for three days . Young lady explained that if I called ahead she would let know if they were closing early and that it’s ok . I asked why not turn off the online like 20 min before close if so….. the reply the owner had to do that she could not . Owner may not even know why he’s not getting orders in...

This store was very clean. The staff are extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent. They have the best subs I have ever had. If you are having a get together and need someone to cater it I would most definetly recommend this Jimmy John's. The drivers are very friendly and very fast when you need your order delivered. The manager is one of the nicest ones that I have met in a long time. And the staff are very patient and willing to explain what exactly goes on a sandwich. This is a very family oriented sub restaurant. Like I said earlier they have very friendly staff and the bread is always fresh and so is the product that goes on to the sandwich. And the pricing is great for the value. The drivers are very fast also with deliveries. I would definetly recommend to all my family...
