Normally Iām not one to write negative reviews, but the experience I had here this year was especially disturbing. I went to Camp Seagull and spent a lot of time in this town as a boy, diving with Olympus, and have lifelong friends who live there. Was traveling back east while dealing with a personal injury, found this place and went a few times to try to relax and get some work done during my week-long visit, and a dark haired bartender with poor taste in tattoos and obvious psychological problems related to men called the police on me for no good reason. The owner Aubrey showed up so quickly that in hindsight it appeared clear I was being targeted. I debated with him my mistreatment since local men had been present on the previous visit the day before and had been welcomed, behaving just as I was behaving when Iād stuck around after the transition to a wine bar; Iād had no more than two overpriced glasses while I continued to work, but they knew Iām from out of town. The owner and I exchanged numbers. Later he lied to me, the classic āuncomfortableā cop out re āall his staffā, but the manager whoās also from New England, a woman, had been friendly and went out of her way to greet and smile at me and wish me well in my recovery each time I was there earlier for coffee. Others also were cool, no issues at all. The owner banned me from the establishment. I called him out in writing on being a sexist and on supporting sexism in his business, and he didnāt even dispute it. Thereāre some messed up people working there. Iāve seldom felt more offended in my entire life. Shame on them, and on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst impression was wonderful. Beautiful building with alot of space to sit. Our first time there you try to learn where everything is (i.e. flavor list, napkins, etc..) The coffee was some of the best I've had around!! My only issue that I even hesitated to write on, was the complete rudeness of one of the baristas. The attitude on her face when I was trying to ask questions. The attitude when I was standing there waiting on my muffin that was forgotten, the attitude when I asked to please have the muffin warmed up. Thankfully the second barista had a wonderful personality. Maybe it was a bad day, but customer service is your #1 job if that's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the only coffee shop our party decided to visit twice during our week at the beach. We always try to support local coffee shops when traveling vs stopping at a chain, so when I saw the reviews and unique flavors this shop had, I decided to give it a try. We loved it! The atmosphere is very cool with neat rooms to sit and chill in. The baristas are friendly and funny. The coffee is excellent. And you can get a 32 oz coffee!!! Pricing is decent and wasn't even the most expensive we had in the area. Definitely check this place out if you're in the Morehead City/Atlantic Beach area. Lavender Matcha...
