Picture this scenario. Its pouring down rain and you're ridiculously hungry so you decide to go to your local del taco. You order your usual favorites, steak and potato epic burrito and cheesecake bites. You pull up to the window, pay for your food and start to drive off, eager to get out of the rain. Halfway home, you start snacking on your caramel cheesecake bites. However, one bite in, you realize that the bites are lukewarm on the outside but absolutely cold on the inside. Trying to stay positive, you put aside the cheesecake bites and decide to open up your burrito. Imagine the surprise you get when you realize that they gave you the wrong burrito. Instead of the steak and potato one, they give you one with shrimp, steak and rice. Okay, still trying to be positive...you try to take a few bites of your burrito because you're hungry. The burrito tastes HORRIBLE. You dont turn the car around because it's raining heavily and you're too far away now. You want to call in to complain and demand a refund BUT you realize that the uninterested cashier at the window didnt bother to give you a receipt. Doesnt this sound like such a terrible experience?Yup, I thought so too when it happened to me less than 10 minutes ago. If it weren't for the rain, I'd drive back and demand to get my money back. Read moreI have always loved Del Taco and have never had a bad experience until now. This is the first time I had been to this particular one and I will never go back. We waited in the drive through for 30 minutes. We were the second and last car in the line, there was no one in the parking lot. Granted 7 minutes of our wait was the car ahead of us. We finally get to the speaker and order. The person read it back completely wrong. Repeated the order again and it was read back correctly this time. Spend 20 min getting to the window to see the world's slowest person working on our order. It was like watching a video in slow motion. We get our food a few minutes later and nothing is marked. We have no idea what is what, everything looks the same wrapped in silver. My husband starts to eat one of the burritos and the steak is burned to a crisp, the cheese is old, and he cant eat it after 2 bites. Mine isnt even wrapped shut.
