We are not the type of family to complain or cause a scene; my brother got married today, so he decided to treat us to dinner at Sizzler. It was a group of 11 people, to be exact. While we were waiting for our food, my mother overheard one of the cooks telling a waiter to deliver one of the plates of food to the “cheap Mexican wedding.” My mother tried to remain calm, but she was furious because it was my brother’s special day.
The front desk manager, whose name is Jesus, came to our table to deliver the food. As soon as he finished helping to deliver the food, my mother pulled him aside and talked to him about what she had heard. Jesus didn’t seem to care about us or the situation. My brother heard the whole thing and felt hurt, humiliated, and didn’t say anything. The manager left without saying a word, not even sorry.
At that point, we all lost our appetite. My brother didn’t eat his food and wasn’t enjoying his wedding dinner at all. No one seemed to care about us. The dedicated waitress who was supposed to take care of us didn't come back. We didn't get any refills or to-go boxes. I had to walk to the server station and ask for boxes myself.
The whole experience was ruined. We thought about leaving and taking our money somewhere else. As we were getting ready to leave, Jesus came to our table and sarcastically asked how we were doing. We weren't doing well at all. We considered asking for a refund and taking our business somewhere else, but instead, we kept our cool and asked Jesus if he could do something for our table.
His response was nonchalant. All we got in return was a condescending smile and a fake apology. It was clear on his face that he didn't care about customer satisfaction. He was only concerned about making money for the establishment.
The unnecessary comments made by staff members should be kept to themselves. This was not a normal day; It was a special day, and we had spent a good amount of money (over $500) leaving us upset, ignored, and with all our feelings hurt. To whoever is reading this, can you imagine how you would feel if you were...
Read moreWe got the salad bar, came to$20/person, my mom who has vision problems got some mushrooms but the mushrooms were not washed and a small spider came out on the table... We told the waitress she was nice and told the manager, but manager basically just said thanks for telling them, they'll rewash the mushrooms(they still had soil all over, they weren't washed to begin with), and he made a joke about spiders being protein 😖 that is not what you want to hear from an American restaurant. I told the waitress when she came back what happened and she said usually the other manager would offer us, but his guy is more "strict"... ?? Later he came back to tell us they rewashed the mushrooms, not that I care at this point, but my mom didn't like it and told him but he didn't seem to care, and proceed to ask my dad if he was happy, my dad is hard of hearing and didn't know what was happening but he still responded, "no" 😆 and then the manager said oh, he is affected by the"bad energy" ... What, who's bad energy?? Also The lady working the salad bar, has an attitude when anyone drops any food and made some not nice remark, can you really blame the customer for picking up food and some of it dropping? It's gonna happen, that's why you are working there to keep it clean, accept your job or ask for a transfer... Besides the mushroom problem, the rest of the food tasted fine... But my mom said the clam chowder tasted like flour and one of the soup cups had some food still stuck on the handle... The ambiance is nice and the tables and chairs seem clean.
I haven't been to a sizzler in a while but I would say try golden corral if you are just gonna order the salad bar, it's cheaper for lunch and I've never had anything like what happened today...
Read moreWhen we first arrived there was no one at the register. Then the manager walked up and greeted us but then passed us off to a cashier.
We were a party of four and ordered one 6oz steak and shrimp dinner, two 8 oz steak and lobster dinners, and one "Shrimp, Shrimp, Shrimp" dinner. The order was put in as two 6oz dinners and one 8 oz dinner. We noticed the mistake before we left the register and let them know. The manager scolded the cashier about repeating orders back to ensure accuracy.
When the three steak dinners arrived, they were still wrong. It was still two steak and shrimp dinners and one steak and lobster, they only upgraded one steak to 8 oz. The manager came back and said that he only, "heard steak" and not the lobster. And then he started talking about paying the difference between the dinners.
The issue is that the employees made two mistakes and then the manager was insulting by emphasizing that there was a price difference. We knew what the prices were, that's what we originally ordered. The manager, an older grey haired gentleman, was also a hypocrite for scolding the cashier about repeating orders when he himself didn't follow his own advice.
Terrible customer service from the manager but the...
