Mariscos Melgoza — Restaurant in Moreno Valley

The food is pretty good but way overpriced in my opinion. The portion sizes are not even comparable to other restaurants. Still pretty good though. When I ate there half of the tables were empty and most all of them had not been cleaned from the previous customer. They kinda clean the table as new people come in, otherwise they choose the 'dirty look' .. maybe they were short staffed. The walls are murals of dolphins and sea life which I liked and typical of seafood restaurants. The music is loud and there were a couple of drunk guys singing out loud, Los Temerarios. Nothing wrong with any of this but it was just not my scene. I had the shrimp quesadilla. It was good and greasy, large, but not worth twenty bucks. The food is ok at best. I had a fish ceviche tostada which was bland. I had to add lime and salt and plenty of salsa to make it ok. We also ordered a sea food soup which was ok. Definitely not a place I would return to but not bad enough that I will refrain from saying not to try it. The only good thing was the hibiscus water (Jamaica) it was made from scratch which was good. They also serve chips with a side of jaiva which was ok a bit too fishy for my taste. Ignore the bad reviews. I actually liked this place quite a bit! Based on the reviews, I probably would have never visited here. But I got confused and thought this place was another Mexican seafood restaurant I bookmarked in the same strip mall. So I came in and sat myself down. The marisco themed ambiance is so cheesy. It has a wall mural with sea creatures on it and even the light is blue! It was so wrong that it felt so right.
