Everything about this place is great and I've been going there for as long as they've been around, including the ones in gilroy, but I have one complaint and that is how come the general caloric amounts for each of their menu items are not posted? It's extremely important for many people to know what they are putting in their bodies, how much calories their ingesting, etc. It should be pretty easy for the company to come up with that information for each item whereas it's seriously difficult for the customer to have to figure it out because they don't know for sure how much of everything goes into whatever it is they're eating. This is very frustrating! I'm not going to take off stars from my review because this isnt about food quality or the establishments quality, rather, it's just about being respectful and appreciative of their clientele by having the decency to post the calories on their items. I'm not asking for a complete nutritional breakdown, just a general estimate of how many calories are in each of their menu items-thats all... The internet is awash with tons of people trying to figure out how much calories they are putting in them selves when they eat there and I don't think it's fair that that isn't shared with them up front. I know I am not going to make a dent in their business if I decide to not go there anymore, but not having the decency to put the caloric estimate on each product is a reason for me to not go back. I could go to Taco Bell and at least know how much of something I'm putting in my body, not that Taco Bell is comprable at all in quality to super taqueria food, cuz theyre NOT, I'm just saying... Provide the calorie...
Read moreUPDATE: They're still far from the best taqueria in Morgan Hill, but they've markedly improved.
Unfortunately, this long-standing staple of Morgan Hill has fallen far from its former glory. Until Super Taqueria dramatically raises their food quality and consistency, they will not compete with the other taquerias in in town.
There are two things I enjoyed about my visit to Super Taq (as it's known to locals): the service, and the value. The order and pickup process was fast and efficient. No other taqueria in Morgan Hill has two registers, so you're unlikely to wait very long in line. I was glad to see they take credit cards now, too.
It's also hard to complain about the price. Super Taq's prices are probably the best in town, but even still, I didn't feel that I got my money's worth.
I ordered a flour quesadilla with carne asada and a side of chips. I would normally go with a burrito, but I was already well aware of their tendancy to pack theirs to the brim with beans, so I steered clear.
Here's how I would describe my quesadilla: a too-small serving of bland, greasy, unsalted beef on a quesadilla with too little cheese and too little pico de gallo. The chips were better: definitely fresh, but also completely unsalted.
If you're just looking for something to fill you up at an affordable price, Super Taq might be the place for you. But if not, there are three other taquerias in Morgan Hill well worth the few extra bucks you'll pay for real quality.
The taqueria scene in Morgan Hill has improved drastically since 2020; I hope that Super Taqueria...
Read moreOur old standby either when you are especially in the mode, realise it has been a while though not by design, or simple hit the "too tired to put dinner together - I know, I can go grab some SuperTaq" (mates response) "yeah, that sounds good". Good and predictably consistent. The only occasional disappointment is when after trimming the gristle off the Carne Asada they seemed to got it wrong and sweep these trimmings into cooks pan instead of the trash resulting in an unpleasantly extra chewie meal. Knowing this we still enjoy SuperTaq enough that we'll roll the dice chancing the random "mouth full of rubber bands" because it is good most of the time. We have friends who have long since moved to Oregon (20+ years ago) who upon driving down for a visit will first stop at SuoerTaq to get a fix and often make it their last stop before hitting the road for the drive back. Yes, we like our SuoerTaq even though it may be short...
