This taqueria is very close location-wise to Super Taqueria, and both places have pros and cons to each other.
Compared to Super Tac- They have a lot more variety in their menu, the food is better overall, their salsa bar is better (including tons of cucumber!), and the atmosphere feels a little less sterile and more comfy. However, the food is expensive compared to Super Tac, or to your average taqueria in general. I like that Super Tac puts avocado on most of their food at no additional cost, but they charge for it here. Pro tip: One of their green salsas in their salsa bar is made with real avocado for no additional cost, but it is a bit spicy. Speaking of spicy, their vampiros are one of the hottest things I have ever ordered at a taqueria.. I couldn't even finish more than a few bites.
If I am paying more for my food, I want to have a reason to justify it, and while it delivers on taste and quality, I have found the customer service to be mostly negative. Just about every one of my encounters with the cooks, who call out your order, has been negative. They are rude for no reason, even when kindly asking basic relevant questions (and even in Spanish) about your food like "is this the one without onions?", when ordering two burritos, and then being snapped at for asking such a dumb question, and it wasn't marked, and they only gave you one of your two burritos though they called out your order. I would like to say that was a one-time occurrence, but a similar situation seems to happen every time. They are jerks for no reason, and it dampens the experience.
I typically only support places that deserve to have my business, but I find myself coming here still due to it being within close walking distance to...
Read moreIt’s unfortunate that my first experience here was not even an experience. The service was so bad my husband and I didn’t even get to place an order before deciding we didn’t want to eat there and went elsewhere. We walked in and stayed back from the counter while we tried to decide what to order. Once we were ready, we stepped up to the counter, where the lady behind the counter had been standing. I proceeded to order a wet burrito(which it says choice of meat) with birria. To which she said birria is only on wknds. Ok….. menu does not say that, but there are options for birria tacos, etc. But ok. Whatever. No big deal. So I looked up at the selection of meats and as I tried to tell her which option I would take instead, she noticed a lady standing behind us and proceeded to put her hand up and say “hold on please, I take her quick, yes, ok.” She then waved the lady in line BEHIND US, and proceeded to let her pay for her phone order and then went and grabbed her order before proceeding to finish our order. She completed my portion of the order and as my husband went to order his tacos the phone rang and (even tho there were 3 other ladies standing around in the background that could have answered the phone) she proceeded to answer the phone and start TAKING THAT ORDER!! She then walked away from the register to ask the cook if there was a certain accommodation there could be made for this order!! My husband and I looked at each other in shock because we had never had this type of service before. So we made the decision to walk away and go to Super Taqueria, which has never disappointed in food or service. Thanks Tacos Amecas #3 for this unprofessional and unpleasant experience. We won’t be going back to...
Read moreHave been going to Tacos Ameca number 3 since it opened. My family and I order food from it at least once or twice a week. Had I done this review two months ago I would have easily given it five stars. In the past we've always recommended it to our friends with confidence that they would deliver a consistently good product at a fair price. I am pretty boring, usually order the same thing, a Super Burrito with either chicken or carne asada. In the past , I was always impressed by the size of the burritos and how they were always full with great balance of rice, beans and meat. In the last couple of months, to put it mildly, the burritos have been horrible. Several times, the burrito was jam-packed with beans , a whole bunch of rice and a few scraps of meat. So, in order to avoid being given a giant bean burrito, I tried to order it "light on the beans". I did this twice. The outcome being the same both times...A giant burrito stuffed with rice about 10 beans and an extremely small amount of meat. I am not sure if it's because of covid they have had to cut back on the amount of meat they put on their burritos to save money. Or if they have a new, extremely untrained staff. It is kind of a bummer that one of the meals I really enjoyed in the course of a week is now non existant. I will now start looking for another place to go. Guys, you have a good thing going. Don't kill it...
