Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Morganton

I was craving for chicken wings and got an email from Zaxby's today (13 Aug '23) for a buy one order of 10pc traditional wings and get another for free, so I made an order online for chicken wings and a funnel cake. The app said my food would be ready in 11 minutes. I live 2 minutes away so I left almost 10 minutes after I made my order..

There was one other person ahead of me who was, apparently, waiting on her order that was made online as well. The girl at the counter, after I gave her my name, told the staff that were working in the kitchens that they "needed the other online order." After at least five minutes of me waiting, the other lady got her order and, as she passed by me, I smiled at her but she didn't return the smile... I realized why she didn't smile back more than twenty minutes later, when I was finally handed my order that should have been ready half an hour ago 🙄

I would have understood waiting as long as I did had the place been full. It was literally just me there, with one other customer appearing to dine in as I waited and, yes, she got her order before I got mine 😶

The chicken wings I got weren't as bad as I've read in the other reviews here but, man, I was expecting a funnel cake that was at least bigger than my small hand for the $3.59 they charge for it. The other reviewer wasn't joking when he described the funnel cake as just being a couple of bites, lol.

No, they didn't lack staff, either, as I saw five people (two at the counter, two in the kitchen, and one that just flitted back and forth) during the almost half hour that I waited on my food.

I don't think I'll be going back, even if they entice me with another promo...

I really hate to say this about Zaxby's because I used to love their food. The food was nasty, the service was slow and the store smelled like they clean up with dirty rags. I ordered the wings and things but could not eat it.

The smell in the store was so nasty and the air was not clean inside at all. The store smelled liked dirty dish rags. And the funnel cake I ordered smelled like chicken.

I ordered online while I was outside, waited about 10-15 minutes. Went inside to get my order it still was not ready, so I went back to the car because to wait because I could not take the smell. Came back about 5 minutes later and got my food. The plastic around the inside of the drink machine where the drink comes out was DISGUSTING. And the counter where the straws and things were was disgusting. The ketchup packs had dry ketchup all over them, I had to get some from behind the counter.

When I got back in the car my food was Lukewarm. No where near just being cooked so I'm not sure what they was doing while I was SUPPOSEDLY waiting for my food to get done.

I was scared to eat my food because I feel like it was just sitting there or it was old because it didn't having any type of hotness to it, not to mention it smelled like the inside of the building.

I was so angry 14 dollars down the drain. I was going to take it back but I didn't even want to go back inside that store. It's not like me not to want what I paid for but , umm no thank you, they can have the 14 dollars.

Maybe they can use the $14 to buy some new dish rags... I do not recommend this place. I can't believe I'm saying this, I love Zaxby's, but the one here in Morganton is...

I came here a couple of times within the month (at night) and the lights at the menu in drive thru always seem to be off. It would help if you can see the menu. Service is pretty slow here too. My last visit, ( and probably the last one), I was waiting in drive thru for an order of wings. While waiting, a group of teens came out of the restaurant, they looked like employees or friends with an employee. One of the guys was recklessly driving his piece of shiet mustang in the parking lot. Made me nervous since the idiot was trying to drift or something and failed. He came pretty close to literally going drive thru through the side of the restaurant. Idiot came pretty close to rear-ending my car too. After waiting 15mins for overpriced wings, I was glad to be out of that drive thru. When I got to work about 5 min away, the wings were overcooked and there were not enough sauce to coat the wings so the wings were dry. Basically I paid for nothing. My...
