We came in for a convenient, later evening dinner and dessert a little before 9:00pm. We were greeted, seated, and our order taken in a timely manner. When our food came up, a different server, who was just getting off of work, brought it to us, as our server was busy bussing a table. My girlfriend never received her salad. When our food arrived, I had ordered the Philly Cheesesteak dip. I received a small amount of roast beef on a dry bun. No cheese, mushrooms, etc. Our server never returned to check on the quality of our food. Our drinks sat empty and my plate untouched, on the edge of our table for over 50 minutes. During this time, we continuously tried to get the attention of the staff, made eye contact with our server (when we could find her) and the Night Manager - a man who seems content to stand around fiddling at the front desk, or walking aimlessly around the front, contributing absolutely nothing to the productivity of his staff. He also clearly lacks the proper training required to provide adequate customer service. We lifted our hand to receive some acknowledgement, several times, and it was as if we were invisible. There were 4 - 5 other small tables in the restaurant, 3 of which were there when we arrived. It was not busy at all. By the time it was all said and done, we were there over an hour and a half. I never even had dinner. We didn't have our check, so we couldn't even just pay and leave. When our server finally came to check on us it was well after 10:20 and she did apologize and comped our meals. The Night Manager never even came to our table; a simple acknowledgment and sincere apology can go a long way in earning repeat business from a customer, even after a terrible dining experience. My suggestion: find a decent Night Manager. Our server was clearly at fault, but I am most disappointed in the Night Managers lack of leadership and accountability for his restaurant and his team. We will certainly...
Read moreThe ♍️ mom with the ♊️ daughter who served us was amazing! I can't recall her name at the moment. It's been a minute, and I haven't had a moment to sit and write a review until now. However, I can tell you that she had a sparkling personality, bright blue eyes, blonde hair pulled back in a carefree pony, and was an engaging, and an all around on top of it server as well making it seems as if she was never there or ever needed to be there.
There wasn't a single moment where we felt in askance or want for anything. My husband and I were able to focus on us, our travel plans, and conversation without wondering where our food was or where she went. That's the mark of Shari's! From CA to WA, they hire AND RETAIN some of the best most experienced waitstaff out there OUTSIDE of Michelin rated restaurants if I am so bold as to dare say!
If you have to choose between chains like Dennys, even Max's, Mel's, or any of these other chain diners in the Pacific Northwest bypass them all and go to Shari's! Always a good eating experience alone, but always better with friends.
Whether it was at 3am before the Endemic and everything was still 24 hours in The Bay or 10a-1p during brunch hours. Brekky all day is a solid winner for us! Long live Shari's bc b4 her it was Baker's Square, down here in San Bruno and they were good, but they didn't have the longevity in our part of the Bay that...
Read moreDon’t waist your money here. It took nearly an hour to get our food, apparently it took so long because a “really large” group of 11 came in. They aren’t normally “slammed” (as in have 12 tables). We asked twice for an estimate on how long our food would take after waiting 40 minutes. Instead of answering, both times they made the excuse of the “really large group.” They didn’t get half our order right, no sauce for the mozzarella sticks, no egg for the kids meal, no chicken on my chicken Caesar salad. They would have fixed my salad but I didn’t want to wait another hour. We’re from out of town and needed to get on the road. We did get ranch, after asking for it multiple times. I literally stood in line for 5 minutes without any acknowledgment. There were a couple and a gentleman ahead of me. All had to wait with no acknowledgment. I stood in line for another 5 minutes waiting to pay. They weren’t busy, they just moved very slowly and confused. It was an awful experience and the food was only edible, not good. My three year old who loves pancakes didn’t care for his pancakes. I don’t normally complain. I understand everyone is human and makes mistakes. This was...
