Wheelchair friendly ramp brings customers into this unique little eatery. There were at least 4 very chatty groups at different tables - it seems the place to eat & hang out with friends. I ordered 3 different tacos - hand made- as recommended by the lady taking orders & a drink - it came to $13.25. When the lad delivered the tacos I have to say I was disappointed - there were 2 maybe 3 tablespoons of meat - loaded up on the veges to try and pad them out. The sauces didn't have any labels on to say mild/medium or hot etc and then I had to go back to the order desk to get a fork, which were stored behind the pass thru. The meat on the tacos I had tasted okay - nothing really special however, the handmade tacos were tasty. When I was ready to leave I wondered what to do with the plate etc and only noticed a disposable area right by the door which detracted from the cleanliness of the rest of the facilities. Considering the size of the group ( workers??/friends??) who were all hanging around the ordering desk chatting, anyone of them should have/could have tidied us this messy area and added to their customer's " first impressions "! A few tweaks and this place could attract more first timers to become...
Read moreI've been eating here for years. I love a good value and nowhere in Moses Lake... NOWHERE is as cheap as Tacos El Rey Taqueria. Mondays and Wednesdays are especially good days to visit thanks to their burrito specials.
I don't love their fajita burrito, (it's a bit 'stringy') but the standard burrito and grande burrito compete with every other taco shop in the city on flavor, and are far cheaper to boot!
The staff are all friendly and work hard. If you come in around 11am or 2pm when the massive lunch rushes hit, the tables will be full of people and usually very dirty, but the staff is quick to clean up once the rush ends.
The real reason I love eating here is the complimentary garnish bar with free green sauce, red sauce, salsa, onions, and pico de gallo. Combined with getting a free drink with any order, it makes every other restaurant and fast food place feel like they're nickel and dimeing you!
This place is 90% of the reason I continue living in ML. If they ever shut down like Tacos Mi Casas biggest restaurant did, it'll be the last straw. I'll finally have no reason to stay in this city a day longer.
That's how much I...
Read moreDecent, authentic Mexican food off the highway in Moses Lake. When you first see this small-house-looking restaurant, you might be tempted to drive by, but if you’re looking of non-fast-food Mexican food stop, consider Tacos El Rey Taqueria. The restaurant was small and relatively clean. Order at a window to a small kitchen from a fairly diverse and interesting menu. Take a seat, watch some soccer, and wait for one of the staff to bring your food to your table. The quality of the food was fairly good and very authentic. The food reminded me of the traditional blander style you’ll find in south Texas, so if you’re version of Mexican food is a nation chain restaurant, you might not like this food. Everything well prepared; the beans and rice were very good, the quality of the meat was fine (my cut of meat was a bit chewy but flavorful), and the sauces were excellent. The portions were large; we couldn’t eat all our meals. The prices were very good. Overall, I’d rate Tacos El Rey Taqueria for authentic preparation, good service, decent price, and...
