Mommy Magic Cakes — Restaurant in Mount Airy

Mommy magic Cakes never disappoints. I absoluty love this place. I have gotten my sons birthday cakes from here the last 2 years and each time they delivered beyond expectation. I only get a 2 layer cake with Buttercream Icing in the middle. This year we called on the day of my sons birthday first thing in the morning it was definitely to late to get gumpaste/ fondant but we were able to order the butter cream 6 inch cake. It was perfect for who was attending. The icing is sweet enough and not over sweet like some grocery stores. They also have other snacks in there you can purchase. My mother in law had never been in a true bakery besides a grocery store and was truly impressed. Their Chocolate covered Gingerbread cookies she ordered. I had expected to be hard they were not and soft which was perfect for my teeth and the Ginger was not over bearing it was mild but gave it enough zazz to taste and mix perfectly. I highly...

Im sad to write this review. As a bakery you should be straightforward with your customers.

My friend bought cupcakes from your bakery and was told they were gluten free. I checked your website and it states you *ARE NOT AN ALLERGY FREE FACILITY! You need to educate your customers on this difference, this friend gave my daughter a cupcake that could have killed her. We now have to deal with so many unfortunate allergy symptoms due to this.

Gluten free vs. No gluten containing ingredients are two EXTREMELY DIFFERENT things.

My friend trusted your company, and was shocked over what happened. It shouldn't be up to me and other parents to educate your customers.

When I go to Wegmans and they have “no gluten containing ingredients” on their products in their bakery they stop people and inform them that it is not GLUTEN FREE, so to be aware.

I emailed mommy magic cakes a few pictures of a detailed first birthday cake. I picked it up the other day and it was perfect! Exactly what I wanted! The details were amazing and it tasted awesome too. In talking to Mommy magic at the store, she was so kind and had a wonderful personality. They were much less expensive then local bakers in Frederick, almost three times less! The lower price certainly has nothing to do with quality because, these cakes are amazing, they tasted awesome, the detail was just beautiful. She said to me as I left, "I don't believe in price gouging just because other bakeries do...We all just moms trying to give our kids a pretty birthday cake!" How awesome is that.? she also sells adorable cake pops in iced sugar cookies at a reasonable price as well. I have three kids so I definitely plan to be back for...
