The first two times I visited was great and I appreciate that waitress we had. This morning we sat there for over half an hour and I walked over just to ask of I could have my coffee and when i sat back down the young blonde waitress spoke loud enough for me to hear her across the restaurant saying I was demanding my coffee and aggravating her amd she was busy. She had an attitude from the beginning and never even spoke to us within that 30 min span. Then she shouted to the manager how I tried to fight her. Never happened. STEVE Irwin walked to our table . He is a large man and got right in my face as well as my friend's blocking us in the boot . I felt uncomfortable amd threatened especially being two women. He completely cut us off in trying to communicate all I did was ask for my drink and he continued blowing it out of proportion I hate it ended this way because I used to love this cafe. as long as he owns this place I will...

Stopped for lunch. Ordered sweet tea with lemon. The tea was weak and didn’t have much ice. Ordered chicken fried steak with fries and waitress said it came with a salad. she brought out salad and the lettuce wasn’t even cut up, it was also brown and had green slime on it. She came back and asked if everything was ok, I told her she could take the salad back as it was very unappetizing 🤢. She didn’t even bother to ask if I wanted something to replace it. Chicken fried steak was fair at best and fries were hot. The only pie they had was a cherry blueberry and it was a small piece with a wet looking crust. First time dining at the Mount Ida Cafe and it was wonderful! Very quaint, cozy atmosphere. Clean establishment. Friendly service. And the food was excellent! My party ordered a baked potato - it was fresh and steaming hot; a burger - that was made from real ground beef, and the patty was thick; eggs, ham, and hash browns - all of it was REAL ingredients, not the typical powdered or liquid eggs most places will serve, and the thick slice of ham was actual ham, none of that processed, rubbery stuff.

Our server was very friendly, pleasant, and punctual. Our food was delivered to the table very quickly. Decently priced on most menu items.
