I order from this location often and the food is good if you can get it fresh. However, the lack in consistency keeps me passing it by for the Sheetz across the road. Today's experience reminded me why.
I received two breakfast sandwiches, an order of hash browns and a cup of black coffee this morning. One of the sandwiches was superb. The bacon was beautifully cooked, it featured a light, fluffy egg and the cheese had melted to the biscuit the way only American can. The coffee was hot, but not quite strong enough to provide the kick I expect from my morning cup of Joe. The lid also had some trouble staying on, leading to nearly dropping the entire cup several times on my way home.
The other biscuit was a stark contrast. The egg had dried to the point I had thought it was only a half portion. I returned and just asked if I'd received an entire egg and the manager scoffed at me. I know food workers deal with a lot, but respectfully asking if you'd received a full portion of what you've paid for is not unreasonable and a simple explanation about fresh eggs just hitting the line would have sufficed. The ($1.00) extra bacon consisted of one half additional pieces and the sandwich itself wasn't warm enough to melt the cheese. The edges of the biscuit had hardened, making every bite feel like biting through corrugated cardboard. The hash browns seemed to have been made at the same time as the egg, as they were just barely warm and saturated with grease. I was unable to finish either of these items.
The staff are friendly and this location is close, but these issues in food freshness are a deal breaker and the manager's attitude towards customers and food safety is at best indifferent. 2/3's of this order was difficult to stomach and I can't justify wasting my time or money on an order like this again. I'll probably continue to get my $2 hamburger, but move onto locations that pay more attention to freshness and hot holding standards for breakfast or any other substantial meal I plan on spending...
Read moreOk whoever is in charge of this store be it a corporate or franchise needs to re-evaluate the general manager William work performance. The sign your windows clearly say open at 5 am on both the drive thru and dine in. I am a truck driver and walked from next door Liberty truckstop at 6:45 am. The doors were locked and nobody was at the drive thru window. There was an employee throwing trash out back so I asked him if they were closed he said, "No." He then went inside and the manager "William" came to the drive thru window and said they weren't open. I told him the sign said 5am and he said he was the only one there and he wasn't open. Now there was clearly two people in the dining area sitting there having coffee and I could see William preparing food. This manager was rude and told me to go to Sheetz truckstop to get something to eat. I asked for his name and he told me to leave. I got his name off his uniform. If I was the owner or his supervisor I would not let this guy sabotage my business like this. Not only was he closed almost 2 hours after they should have been open he also sent business away to the truckstop across the street. . Not having the proper amount of employees to operate shows very poor management skills. Just his nasty attitude would be enough for me to FIRE this guy. I will definitely be calling his supervisor or owner. Now I was also here the day before and had the 2 for $6 whoppers "heavy all" and service was great and the female manager made sure the sandwiches were made correctly with heavy all ingredients. That is who should...
