China King — Restaurant in Mount Jackson

One of the best Chinese restaurants outside of Chine. I spent 2 years in Beijing so I actually have the reference to make that statement.

It's still American Chinese food, but they do a great job. Of course if there is something you want that's not on the menu, in my experience if you ask for it they will make it provided they have what they need to prepare it.

And to finish this review off, what really makes this a great little place in the country to eat, is the people who run the restaurant. They are a really nice and friendly group. They are the hard working, productive LEGAL immigrants America has always welcomed.

Oct 2023: Appetizers have taken a turn for the worse. Fried dumplings are edible but not so great deep fried. Wish they would go back to steamed then wok fried, tastes so much better. I think they are from a new supplier, definitely not as good as previously. Shrimp toast is off my list. New shrimp toast supplier should be put out of business, and they are always overcooked and greasy. Teriyaki chicken was horrible. Deep fried chicken skewers, dry, no flavor. They used to be delicious. The main dishes seem to be doing well, no noticeable changes or decreases in taste or freshness.

One year ago: Really good food, consistently good, fresh. Quick service and our order is always correct. Booths available for those on the go, but we always carry out....

Update: The food quality and flavor is terrible again. They are frying items in a fryer and not a wok. The fried chicken was so hard it was inedible. The fried rice is flavorless and dripping with oil. The egg rolls aren’t even good anymore. It’s such a shame because for twenty years this was the best Chinese in the area. The same family has been operating it since the beginning. These are some cousins of the family. When the older family members and other family members left about five years ago the food immediately went down hill. It’s a shame. Now it’s definitely some...
